I also used a 4 person sigtronics unit in my m109. it even came with a remote box so I have one intercom box mounted in the van box body where 2 people sit while driving and another in the cab where the other 2 of us sit. They can be had quite cheap off ebay and craigslist as can some nice david...
I'm unable to find a good thread on adding an air dryer to a deuce that didn't come with one. Does anyone have any pictures or links to threads that show some of the basics (plumbing, mounting, electrical hookup for the heated ones)? Thanks
I agree with Clay on this. I did my box starting with the cheaper pink 2" foam and it was difficult to install since 2" foam requires lots of trimming, the 1.5" foil backed stuff had the same R value as the 2" pink and was easier to cut, fit, etc.... but it cost more. Here is a link to my...
I admit that I had just bought the only one I saw listed on ebay before I put that post up. Member Sewerzuk bought an adapter that mounts onto the factory unit and corrects the ratio for about $60. Post 302 HERE is where he talks about it. He bought the 20% overdrive adapter Part #54RA2 from...
Okay, I think the correct speedometer adapter for the deuce with 395 tires is going to be a 1:222 unit that has a part number scary close to the 939 trucks.
There is a SP-288 .222 unit (NSN 3010-00-740-9623). An alternative part number for it is 749623, but its NOT THE SAME AS 749623-1...
I got pretty excited about this so I ordered one off ebay. Unfortunately this is not the correct one at all. I should have done a little better job reading up on it, its ratio is 1.13:1 and it spins in the reverse direction of the deuce unit so I'd guess that this could damage something in...
I'm not sure what the intent of that exhaust routing is... If you keep it that way I'd just make sure the tubing is routed downward so that it cant trap and hold moisture in the lines and then eventually back-up into the valve assembly. Here is the best picture I could find of what the drag...
The over-steer happens because the draglink valve needs to compress or extend in order to add the "air assist". So it takes a certain amount of force before the power steering kicks in. I have the same thing happen with my truck and its a bit of a pain but you if you anticipate the problem...
I know I bought the plastic from Mcmaster.com but I cant remember what size it was. I think I tried to find something about the same size as the wood and then I used the table saw to cut the dado grooves in it that the metal window halves pinch onto. I also ran stainless 8-32 screws & locknuts...
The new one I bought off of ebay was nearly illegible as well. I don't think there was any other markings on it besides the ink printed numbers like you took a picture of.
Do you have any idea where you bought that adapter or what type of 5 ton truck it came off? Thanks
Yikes!
Here is my window advice also: when I painted my 109 I masked off the windows and then used a knife to trim the masking tape a little better..... but when I removed the mask after paint I found a few windows with big cracks in them that must have formed from the accidental (and very...
I ordered one off ebay too, and while it helped get the speedo closer it didn't help much... so I guess I got the wrong one? I think with the stock speedo and 395 tires, I was reading 50mph (speedo) and 60mph (GPS). The ebay 5 ton unit I bought was reading more like 54mph(speedo) and 60mph (GPS)...
I guess I've never seen one of these 105a3 trailers. I like where they have the lights located and the extra lights. The wheels are interesting too. I put larger wheels on my trailer and had some extended fenders made (which I haven't gotten around to installing), but looks like this has them...
The rapco paint I used has held up well to heat on the exhaust and muffler for 3 years now. I did use hardener when I painted it which helps I'm sure but so far it still looks the same as the rest of the truck.
no worries. Here is the Snorkel: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?72039-My-Snorkel&p=1055774&viewfull=1#post1055774
Here is a good source for the paint: http://www.rapcoparts.com/manuals.html Although lots of folks get paint from Home Depot and love it. Not sure how well Home depot...
Great job Quadjeeper, excellent work! It's fun reading this and seeing all the work you have done. Would you say the power steering was the biggest project so far (as far as time and difficulty)? I'm looking forward to seeing your progress and other ideas so I can "borrow" them just like I've...
