Hi,
Thanks for all compliments guys. ArmyMan is right. If there was a list of great internal combustion engine designs, the slant six would be right up there in the top 10. I drive one every day. If humanity ceased to exist, the slant sixes of the world would still be putt-putting around 8)...
I'll be starting to do redo my driveway and "motor pool parking & maintenance area" this weekend so I'll make it a point to post some pics of its facelift and it working. We just started driving the Oshkosh this week. Wow does that thing move! 7.21 axle ratio :D Pedestrians cringe from the...
Hi,
I haven't posted pics of the Deuce in awhile so......Here are a couple of pics of my Deuce bringing back two items from the same junkyard in February. Enjoy.
Item No.1: "New" 10' dump bed for the 57' Oshkosh. Used the 819 to swap beds.
Item No.2: 1963 Crown Imperial. Currently...
Very cool stuff guys. Thanks for the pics. Hopefully they will inspire others to take a journey in their MV's and to realize how enjoyable it is. Small groups are just as fun as big groups.
OPCOM's Deuce is the "Mothership" [thumbzup]
Finally!! :P What did you use to raise and lower the dump bed? Individual chain hoists? Its not clear in the pics. Does your shifter hit the PTO shifter? Keep up the good work, and paint that thing one color!
Meow :o
In my personal experience it costs significantly less to purchase Gillespie from RAPCO in TX than other suppliers in NJ, mostly due to Hazardous material charges.
Are you going for a 4 color MERDC or a 3 color woodland? Post pics when your done. See ya.
It's strange that the horn is mounted outside the body. I guess they just ran out of room.
Question: Was the air-inflatable door gaskets intact when you first got it. If so, do you intend to make that system operational? From the picture you'd think it was 1970 :)
RE: engine swap questions
Bobbytoday: See my post: "M819 RECEIVES NTC400!!" (I don't know how to link threads.)
Everyone else: Expect an update on this in I'd say 2 weeks or so I promise... I'm still in the process of putting in a "nicer" driveway and motorpool parking &...
RE: Re: RE: Who can help me ID this trailer?
Yes but manuevering in the yard would be a challenge :P We would have to drive in head first, unhitch, drive forward, set the tongue on a homemade dolly, get the crawler started, and proceed to weave it back into the corner. :D Believe me if I...
The maximum allowable tow rating listed on the data plate on any MV is highly underrated and is not gospel. It has probably more to do with the capability of the braking system (or lack there of) then the physical capability of the drivetrain and chassis.
Oh I forgot to add (pretending to be...
C'dub was the only guy from the site I missed all day. Really nice truck man!
Nice people, vendors, and vehicles. I enjoyed the antiques tractors & engines as well.
The MTA runs a well organized event. I'll be there with my truck next year. Its an easy ride.
