Is a gasser equipped truck that would require a costly repower worth $16K to you? Also in the big scheme of things, a truck with either an 18' (816) or 26' (819) boom length does not carry the capabilities of modern commercial cranes.
Try this: :wink...
RE: more pics M342
 I don't think anyone has ever said "thats too many pictures." :)
The only thing I can think of is to trace all fuel, vent, & return lines checking for air leaks. Some on the board here have also discovered that some soft fuel lines will delaminate causing some...
Hello,
We finally had the oppurtunity to tow the Deuce with the 819: We had to drive out to Bald Hill and drop the trucks off for the week for display at the mobile Vietnam Wall Memorial along with other MV club members. Those responsible for the construction and setup of the well did an...
Coincidentaly, My brother and I had the oppurtunity to use the front winch on the 819 yesterday for a first time self extraction from my driveway (up to the running boards.) We've used it many times before and ALWAYS employ the buddy system and the use of standard hand signals and commands...
Welcome!! Nice Winch truck! Yeah I'm pretty sure its for the heater fan.
P.S. (Shameless RC Rally Plug)
If your interested in taking your new Deuce offroad and meeting some of your fellow Steel Soldiers, then join us in October 10-12 at RC Offroad Park for a weekend of fun!
Forgot to add.....
The width of the M127 trailer at the tongue is the same as the rest of the trailer and does not taper. This will certainly cause interference. There is a bar on the driver side deck that retains the gin poles that will probably be in the way, not to mention the steel box...
M127:
The centerline of the landing gear is 77-1/2" aft of the king pin. The king pin is 30" aft of the leading edge of the trailer.
M819:
The bogie centerline is 65" forward of the trailing edge of the truck. The actual fifth wheel centerline may be 1-4" forward of the bogie centerline...
It contains a small air cooled gasoline engine that runs an air compressor. The compressor is used to help deliver different types of grease to a pneumatic grease gun. There are several grease nozzles each with their own reel. There are also different tanks for gear oils, etc.
If you had a...
Here is the previously mentioned Wiffle tree, Homemade style......I took two 1/2" THK. plates and cut em' out and welded the perimeters up as well as adding some plug welds on the reverse side. Lift shackles attaching tree to towbar are 1-1/8' Dia.
I have not observed any warping of the plate...
---Nice Collection Alex T. Even VeeDub's got a 3 color job [thumbzup] You need to add something Groß to your fleet!!
Recently I had my first "negative" reaction to my Deuce. I've had plenty of scrunched faces and fingers in ears but this was a little different. More an environmental thing...
RE: Re: Rausch Creek MV Rally 08!! - Oct. 10,11,12
Hello, event update:
-I'm posting maps of the trail system to illustrate just how much there is to see and do throughout the park. Our innaugral event just scratched the surface in terms of the amount of trails ridden. The "East Property"...
Thank you bottleworks for carrying out this modification and posting the pics. I can't think of a more inconvenient way to check the brake fluid level than on a stock Deuce/5ton. Its location promotes ignorance of the actual fluid level and is probably a huge factor in brake related accidents...
Now for the Before/after pics:
almost forgot:
-Welded up height extension channels to receive boards on sides and rear
-Welded up all new 4" exhaust with oval muffler to replace rusty 3.5"
-Went to local saw mill and picked up real White Oak 2"x8"s for the bed sides.
Enjoy...
Hi
Here are some pics of our late winter project. It has become a very useful addition to the fleet! It can haul and dump a full 10cu.yds. of RCA. (we finally got to do that this weekend.) Now we can move on to futzing with that wrecker.
Here's a little summary of the work performed...
How far down do you need to set those concrete bases? Does the whole structure undulate from the freeze/thaw cycle in the winter? Forgive my ignorance. Very cool stuff. Looks nice & sandy. I'm guessing the soil drains well before it can freeze.
Thanks Crash. I have not yet determined whether or not an Imperial gas tank is similar to other C-bodies of that vintage: Newport, New Yorker, etc. There is an Imperial only junkyard in Nebraska so I may try him too. Thanks again.
