Two scenarios come to mind-have you verified full throttle operation?have the wife/girl/joe smo hold the pedal to the metal and try to rotate the throttle on the injection pump more.
Either that it's an old cable that is stretched and about to break...

You need to remove injector lines, then valve covers, rockers and shafts. Then the head comes off, new gaskets, put everything back together. Torque with arp studs or NEW head bolts-head bolts are torque to yield 1time use bolts.
You will be miles ahead using the correct "van" or center mount...
Awesome thanks! Looks like I was looking at the right plug then, I think I will be using a small Mack heater, it's about 8x8x10 with two outlets, a little less "authentic" but it should work great at keeping the Windows clear on colder mornings.

Could you possibly get a better photo of the bottom left two pictures? that would be really helpful, I think I located the right plug, but I'm not positive. I have several 1955 manuals, and while some do mention a cab heater, non actually describe install. I am positive I have the 8022, but I...
Hi all,
I have been thinking of how to put in a cab heater; really just something to keep frost and fog off the the window, as I don't plan to run it too much in the colder weather.
I'm just wondering if these early trucks came with an arctic kit that would supply an engine coolant supplied...
eBay, search for M35 Dash Panel Retainer 7397744, I've only ever seen them there, but I've never asked any of the surplus dealers either. You'll need 2 to do the job.

Yeah, they were looking pretty old, brake broke right in the middle, but the clutch broke halfway through the hook, almost seemed like it was worn from rubbing rather then fatigue.
It was one of those things I hadn't quite gotten to, amidst all my other projects sapping up all my spare change...
In 1980 or 81 they did away with the heavy steel shield and went to a light sheet stamped guard on all trucks. I assume they just thought it was overkill or steel prices were rising so they wanted to cut back on certain things

That's good it was save able, some older transmissions and parts are getting scarce so to be able to save something that most would throw out is a good thing. Cracks are no fun, but a good weld and some well placed drill holes can save most parts like that.

Got a chance to test out my reverse/auxilary lights last night, Pictures do NOT do them justice; I could see all the bushes lining the other side of the road, like 150+ feet away, them suckers are bright, I don't do a whole lot of night driving with the truck, but there are those times when I do...
My harness was ok to install, did it in 40 degree weather, biggest issue I faced was adding a turn signal harness to the NOS gas motor harness, and only the nuts right around the main portion upon entering the fire wall were rusted.
I mean it wasn't fun, but it wasn't bad either.

Pay the 130 from Memphis OR get the kit from Then and Now Auto, give me few minutes I'll try and find the part number and price I paid.

I used the kit from mikes carburetor parts(the above links) for my reo gasser- it was a good quality kit. I also recommend using Berryman chem-dip to clean the carb-works wonders on loosening any dried on residue.
Also White Owl is very good for parts, and prices tend to be the best for the...

I would say you measured connecting rod journals, and that they are .030...
DieselPlace.com is a good site, and lots of information on the 6.2/6.5 motors, I am a member there as well(1967KaiserM715)
the only thing different with the turbo heads is locations of coolant passages(to put this head on a 6.2 with a 6.2 gasket would be fine, but to use a 6.5 gasket it may...
yes and no, you will flow more with the dual thermostats, but the 6.5 also had a larger radiator-like 2 inches taller, and about 6 inches wider. same 4 core, it had the ability to cool with the increased flow. your bypass is a small diameter, so it shouldn't actually have as much affect on...
