25 to 30 mpg? He probably was not expecting to buy fuel until February! It is an odd sight to see, a small Toyota pickup roadside.... they are generally reliable and pretty fuel efficient.
It is always nice to see you guys roll in, even if you need a little help getting here. I was very happy that you caught me at a time when I was available for an hour or so, I would have found somebody to get fuel to you guys... better in person though.
We charge 3.50 a mile, be half that per truck if you were hauling two. The trick as others have mentioned is to catch somebody looking to fill a load or make a back haul. I drove mine about 700 miles home, quite the adventure. 8)
Mine starts fine down to about 5 degrees without added heat, I never spray ether. My flame heaters work, but I seldom use them. All three of mine start very easily, surprisingly easy. As far as cranking power, check your batteries to see what they are carrying. You should have over 24 volts...
We have about 2" of snow on the ground now, depending upon whose forecast you read, we could get three or four more. Your truck sounds great by the way....
We have to keep Elmo happy, so bring back the ones you have and swap them out for the ones you want. I have the 800 series trucks back on the ground, maybe we can salvage some more parts before they go bye bye....

The heater box and cores on the 939 series trucks appear to be the same as are the fan motors. There are a lot of 900 series trucks gong down the parts tubes right now. The boxes mount different, but use the same style brackets, just in different holes. Glen
Unless you are restoring, mount it in the cab below the glovebox, route the water instead of the air through the firewall. You will lose much less heat and make a much smaller hole for cold air to enter the cab through. You might even look at a M923, the heater box mounts to the engine side of...
