Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

It has been hot a couple times when I had the winter front cover on and forgot to open it, but that was only about 225 degrees or so. It is toasty but not to the point where I would think the rings would weaken. It makes sense though if it takes the temper out of the rings... possible! Do you...

7/8 wrench with 1/2 drive for M35 A2 head bolts

Did this wrench work well for you? I am going to put new rings in my deuce sometime soon and am looking for a cylinder head wrench. What Model Proto is that? Thank you.

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

I am going to Findlay so if anybody has any related items that I may need when I change my piston rings, let me know. I would be looking to buy/borrow a quality cylinder head wrench as well.

2015 5/15-17 Findlay Ohio Buy, Sell, Trade, Wanted

I am looking to buy/borrow a multifuel cylinder head wrench if anybody has one. I am putting new piston rings in my multifuel sometime soon and would like to locate a wrench if I could. I could ship it back after I use it or buy one that somebody no longer needs.

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

Well, I think I have been trying to fight off he realization that I need new piston rings in my M35A2. I have some blow by and it never liked starting when it was cold out. I had the cylinder heads off once before just to put new gaskets on and there was hardly any ridge on the cylinders. The...

2015 5/15-17 Findlay Ohio Buy, Sell, Trade, Wanted

I am looking for a set of piston rings for my LDT-456, latest and greatest head gaskets and an oil pan gasket. I need to re-ring the engine to get my blow by problem fixed. I have (4) 11.00-20's mounted on 5 Ton rims if anybody wants to trade me for some of these items. Here are the tires. They...

LDT Engine Temp In 30F Weather

I was working on something else and you jumped right on changing it. I still say I over paid on labor though :)

    M923A2 Doing 80 MPH!!

How does speed effect the hub seals? I am not sure I understand the connection. I don't know anything about the CTIS hub seals. Thank you.

New heater core installed - Summer operation?

I don't shut off my valves in the summer time. I do though have a cable operated valve that is inline (that I installed on my deuce) on the hose that is designed to not completely close. The reason for this is so that the coolant still flows through the core to keep the core in good condition...

LDT Engine Temp In 30F Weather

I did not. I still have it even though it should be tossed.... but I couldn't be happier with the performance. Like any typical diesel, it takes a little while to warm up, but it goes to 180 and then just stops. Its beautiful! :D

LDT Engine Temp In 30F Weather

I just wanted to post an update to this thread. I bought the thermostat from Napa and I might have kept it for 3 years or so before I actually put it in. Anyway, 74M35A2 and I put the thermostat in and like we talked about in this thread, it never warmed up very well at all, even with 50 or 60...

Cheap / Inexpensive portable WMO filter & storage setup.

That is pretty much the same thing that I built except I used an old propane tank. It works great! Just like you said, let the oil settle and a lot of the sludge will go to the bottom, then drain that off. I love my system and it works very well!

    Which Starter should I buy?

If you found a gear drive starter that uses a Nippondenso motor, that would be a good quality unit. I have one in my hot rod for about 8 years and about 80,000 miles on it and it has worked great.

I could also use a U-joint for the driveshaft going to my front axle. Take out is fine. Would you have one of those Gimp?

Deuce Crash - Subway drive thru.

It wasn't me! I crashed mine once and that was enough! Before Rebuild: After Rebuild: Looking at that gentleman's truck, I could have that fixed in a weekend. Mine took me 3.5 months to rebuild. Thank goodness everybody seems to be ok. Thread Here...

2015 5/15-17 Findlay Ohio Buy, Sell, Trade, Wanted

I am also looking for a cargo strap kit for a Deuce to do the jungle roll on the sides. These straps mount to the cargo bows and then attach to the cover. I wish I could find a picture of them, but I have not seen any lately. They would be similar to the straps attached directly to the cargo...

2015 5/15-17 Findlay Ohio Buy, Sell, Trade, Wanted

Does anybody have an alternator bracket for a Deuce? I am looking for the one that mounts the two ears of the alternator to the block. I also have (4) 11.00-20 NDT Tires mounted on 5 ton rims. They all hold air and are about 50% tread anyway... some may be even better. I would have to measure...

Was Stuck in M923A2, learned many lessons

I hope all works out for you. I have been in similar situations and thankfully have made out ok. Thats why I always like having a full tank of fuel, truck checked over and enough supplies in case stuff hits the fan. I also carry 3 snatch blocks (two single pulley ones and one double pulley for...

    Broken Rockwell Axle

That is the only thing that has me thinking twice about putting 11.00-20s on my truck if I was able to locate some. They would ride nice but offroad articulation would be compromised a little. I have had my 9.00-20's hit my bed now.... but that was an extreme case of me playing around running a...

2015 5/15-17 Findlay Ohio Buy, Sell, Trade, Wanted

They might not be too bad to copy, but the original brackets would make life a lot easier and it would have the height exactly right where it needs to be. I know somebody has to have them... somewhere. Its just one of those piddly parts that may not get much attention or get scraped with a...
