Yeah my Airtex was pulling through a “custom” pickup screen, very open and non restrictive. If the product was changed like the spec sheet I have found, this is definitely an issue. The “older” e8131’s wouldn’t be an issue like must threads out there if they did in fact flow upwards of 35GPH...
Took the truck on about a 5mile crusie and then another 20 or so minutes driving around our property. Roughly 25 degrees outside and not even a hiccup. As of now, I’m calling it FIXED!
I’m questioning going out to the garage to fire up the truck tonight, not because I don’t think it’ll start, it’s because it’s only -1 outside at only 7:36pm, AND my truck did NOT come with a heater when I bought it HAHA.(Which reminds me, I need to find a cheap one lol)
I removed the original dead pump initially when installed my in line pump, so it has been out for awhile. I had made a custom fuel pick up inside the tank, all that is still good.
I updated an old post, but here it is again…
Here is my current fuel setup…
Tank -> pick up tube -> wix...
Here’s a summary…
I’ll begin by saying my truck was stalling about every 1mins-4mins. I noticed on my secondary fuel pressure gauge that I was losing fuel pressure causing it to stall. To me the truck was starving for fuel. I had changed filters a handful of times with no luck. I decided to...
With the latest publicity and internet fame of MV’s from the guys at Diesel Brothers and all their recovery videos, it’s no wonder everyone now wants one and prices are going up! Check out Heavy D and all his MV toys!
As of last night it was running great, even at 10 degrees outside haha By the time I let it warm up, then cruising around our farm field’s, to taking it around the block, it was a solid 35-40mins of run time, never once a hiccup. The longest it would ever run good before, was about 1-4 mins then...
Sorry I must be misunderstanding, I want to remove the original fitting and copper all together. Then replace with a fitting that adapts from that 1/2” thread to 1/2” compression so I can connect my brand new plastic lines
I appreciate the info, I’ll hunt down what I need from there
Does anyone know off the top of their head what size and pitch, or what the fitting is that’s on the fuel outlet on top of the tank? It’s a flare fitting originally, but I’m at work and can’t actually size the female side. I’d like to find a fitting to screw into it other than the original...
I am now thinking the pump may be the issue. I have found two sources for info on the Airtex E8131. A 2016 publication on their site states 10-14 psi and 35GPH. Now their site with an updated 2022 publication states 9-14psi and 20GPH.
hmmm.
I have a new Carter pump coming to try out. 6-8psi...
