    blew fan clutch hose

If I had a hose full of nickels... Specifically, if I had THIS hose: 6490610019 http://www.nsn-now.com/Indexing/PublicSearch.aspx Which I didn’t, so after pouring over the web looking for one of any of branded part numbers listed, the ONLY one I could find was the stock part numbered hose...

Maryland State Inspection- HMMWV registered as an AM General Pickup

CALL the Glen Burnie office Monday AM, ask for a specialist (that’s the buzzword) who deals with military vehicle registration and title. I went through this in Oct ‘16, spoke with a very nice older woman who knew exactly what and how. Wound up registering historic, went through a local...

    blew fan clutch hose

Well, after doing it the OTHER way, start engine, turn hard left, turn off, repeat fifteen minutes later to the right, and again, and again, until the foam went away. Of course, cranking on the hose clamps at the pump seemed to help. Ahem. New hose is on order, have clamps, have truck in the...

    blew fan clutch hose

I thought of you when I wrote this up. I'd intended to replace all the hoses when I bought the thing two years (18 months and counting) ago, just never got around to it, or a few other things. Got the correct hose ordered from Mac Motors, will drain system and do some plug and play soon...

    blew fan clutch hose

Curiously, as I poke through the manuals, it looks like the low-pressure fittings were original issue; the high-pressure fittings later, but I bought them, installed them, bled the power steering system by the instructions everyone else seems to swear by (the later ones, with the pump mfr advice...

    blew fan clutch hose

Thanks, Juan, Action, Simp7862 (if that’s your real name). Wrong fitting, wrong hose, will try and order in the AM (MacMotors has ‘em). FEDEX from PA is about 24 hrs, if they’re open Easter Monday. Easier/cheaper just to buy the right part. Have it made up at NAPA? No thanks, they’re morons...

    blew fan clutch hose

Sort of. Pressure hose from cadillac valve to shroud connector came off. Had installed valve about a month ago, used new piece of hose. Fuel line, 50psi. What was I thinking, right? It was what was on it, I didn’t give it any thought. Bled system, tested fan/TDM/clutch - runs great. Couple...

What did you do to your trailer today.

12mpg at 65mpg average, 20mpg without trailer same avg speed. It’s like towing a parachute. The speed thing was weird, was keeping up with flow of traffic through Knoxville, early afternoon, got into this weird passing/no passing thing where all I wanted to do was pull over OUT of the passing...

What did you do to your trailer today.

took mine for a ride yesterday. 759 miles to Tennessee. 5AM to 6PM EST. Gas mileage was awful, but it rides smooth up to 90mph (don’t ask).

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

As they say (whoever "they" are - well, THEY know who they are), it's the little things that matter most. I'm sure your HMMWV appreciates the gesture. Actually, all sarcasm aside, that's a great idea. Thanks again for posting.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Windy today, power’s out. Have kerosene heater in house for wife (recovering from surgery), I’m reviving a 17 year old Yamaha Grizzly 600 ATV, cleaned out carb, had it running- sort of - putting in a rebuild kit this am and wanted power/lights on my workbench. Figure this’ll last a few hours...

What did you do to your trailer today.

Scored a good used Harmar AL055 wheelchair lift off the evil auction site. Had a buncha “bucks” I needed to use, no one else bidded on it, so I wound up bidding the opening bid - no reserve - so it cost about $175. Thing stands about 2 feet high, arm swings out about 3 feet. Capacity’s #200...

    Load Bank?

Ran this setup today for about an hour. The 4800 Watt space heater. At first the generator kind of “bogged down” when the heater came on, and all kinds of black smoke came out of the genset like it was a municipal/city bus pulling away from a stop. Did this for about ten minutes, then the...

Which water-pump part number do I need?

I posted on that months ago. PFC Snuffy used a 5/8 hose outlet on the crossover, but there was a 3/4 outlet on the water pump (what‘s supposed to be in both places). I replaced the hose and still had leaking. took the hose off again to fix it and couldn‘t help noticing the top/crossover end...

HMMWV Fan Clutch Demons - Please Advise

Wow. And wow again. Anaerobic soil bacteria will feast on the mineral oil in the ATF. https://digitalcommons.unl.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?referer=https://duckduckgo.com/&httpsredir=1&article=1007&context=bioscimicro Eventually. Growing up in Florida, pre-EPA, we’d use old motor oil to kill...

    Biodiesel

This is fun. Came across this from a newsfeed from CFACT. HAte to do a “zombie post” resurrection, but searches for “biodiesel” led to this forum, this post. **************** Germany's fighter jets in Schleswig-Holstein grounded after too much bio-diesel was mixed into the jet fuel. Share the...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Not exactly a “what I did to my HMMWV today” but useful anyway. Moving batteries around recently (my thanks to Scrounger who advised getting a Snap-On carbon pile battery load tester - found one on the evil auction site delivered for about $220), I remembered these things in my brother’s garage...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Replaced the cadillac valve. Had bought one thinking it might be a good idea to have around as “a spare” but after reading General Hood’s travails, I went out and measured the resistance in mine - open circuit. Hasn’t run since last summer (the fan), several trips around town, 80 mile run...

HMMWV Fan Clutch Demons - Please Advise

So, what ever came of this? I just changed out my solenoid/cadillac valve and MAN is it comforting to hear that fan kick in when I unplug the connector. Had me worried a bit. You sort this out?
