Bench testing a 200 amp alternator

THIS should help some. Not wiring harness numbers. There is a sheet of standardized circuit/wiring numbers available I can't find on my computer right off hand. May be in the manuals/uploads section, but the military vehicle wiring diagrams are numbered, these relate to power/connection...

Specifically, which TM's should I go over for PM Services

Call me lucky. I printed every manual, update, MWO on my work printer (high speed LASER) double sided, something like 5,000 pages altogether. Used a hole punch and Stargate SG1 watching time in the evening (well, 11 to midnight) to put it all in binders over several weeks. I also downloaded...

    Bendix gear

Last time I looked, the solenoid is available through amazon.com for about $40, new in US Govt issue wrap. I bought a spare. Worth looking, cheap insurance.

    LOOKING FOR X DOORs

I’ve seen this. I bought a set in Oct/Nov ‘17 (barely 6 months ago), pick of the litter (still need refinishing but intact, complete, no delamination just waiting for warmer weather and a half dozen other projects to get around to it), I paid $1800 for ‘em. At this rate, I may be able to sell...

    2nd Gator Up and Running

My neighbor down in TN, a former GE mechanical engineer (small-town Kentucky farm-educated "hillbilly", never went to college) was given a used gator that needed some work on the brakes. It needed new brakes. JD dealer quoted him some absurd number in the thousands for calipers, discs, master...

    GAA Grease

That looked like a possibility, but I read a boat load of reviews talking about separation/dripping. I’d already bought a couple tubes of Valvoline Crimson on the recommendations of several of the “elders” here, hit all the zerk fittings on the truck, hung up the gun and several weeks later...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Your sense of sarcasm comes through loud and clear. I learned the hard way I need to take my doors OFF before pulling the truck into my garage: I ordered a set of handles but wound up using a 2-1/2” or 3” (I forget) deck screw to hold the broken one together. Drilled a pilot hole...

    HMMWV Half Shafts

Well, I’m assuming that parts which are stamped with US manufacturer codes and/or NSNs or part numbers are most likely those made per MILSPEC contract details. Stamped, roll-stamped, engraved, otherwise indelibly marked per DoD guideines. I have received several items from the Lupine Parts...

Maryland State Inspection- HMMWV registered as an AM General Pickup

Um, do us all a favor, would you? If you don’t start any sh*t there won’t BE any sh*t (to quote Will Smith). Talk to the specialist, do what she says and no one will get hurt. Thanks.

    blew fan clutch hose

Nothing personal, Action, but unless you start at the beginning of this thread, your comments are irrelevant to the conversation. ”the two things” would be the PS cooler, PS pump, and more. I’m just not up for the time/trouble/effort/expense of the crimped/swaged/fitted hose project and...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Hey, Joe. Pays your money, takes your chances. I posted a few months ago about one of my Optima batteries dying. I had them connected to a 24volt charger which only ever showed them charged. This despite one cell dying (or however the heck it is the newer AGM batteries are arranged...

    blew fan clutch hose

The smooth stuff's on it now (PN 6490610019/12338957, stock part #s), should be fine, just want to start with good hose. 12 feet total. (23" + 41" + 45" + 29" with fudge factor), have the HP (blue) hose already. I'll PM you, Juan. Got your paypal info. Thanks.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Made charger connections using SAE fittings. Had some other connector in place (Anderson power pole), but believe it or not they DO wear out and lose connectivity. Had also used a 24V charger in series (like the batteries are wired) but when one died months ago, got two of the smaller chargers...

    blew fan clutch hose

Thanks, Juan. Having a bear of a time even finding this stuff in stock. H10106 shows up as either discontinued, out of stock, can be ordered, and at prices from $2.50/foot delivered to almost $7.00, with several suppliers selling aftermarket (Chicom? Mexican? Who knows) hose WITH the WH part...

    blew fan clutch hose

Yeah, most likely. I had stainless steel braided hose on a Norton 850 Commando many years ago cinched up with 1/4" hose clamps, didn't weep or anything. I called around, no go for instock hose H10106 Weatherhead 3/8 at NAPA or several other places, but I CAN order it in bulk (50 feet spool)...

    blew fan clutch hose

Well, that’s where it gets really freaking interesting, you know? The stock hoses are all the stiffer, reinforced stuff with a polyethyline liner (not nitrile) and they’re held in place with simple hose clamps. The newer, higher pressure hydraulic hose, while metal/wire reinforced, has a...

    blew fan clutch hose

Found this on Dr. Evil’s jungle site: https://smile.amazon.com/JGB-JFlex-Hydraulic-Hose-Length-1-Wire/dp/B0107OADUU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1523843175&sr=8-2&keywords=3%2F8+hydraulic+hose+bulk This look right? I can have it here Tuesday, no driving around amongst the gray hair crowd or rush...

    blew fan clutch hose

Thing is, I started with the low pressure fittings (single hump, hose clamp), which shows up in the repair manuals, NOT in the parts manuals - those show the later, Aeroquip-type fittings with a bleeder fitting near the solenoid. I upgraded to the newer fittings. Question now is, who has the...
