    Swapping a 6.5 HMMWV into the m1008

To swap a side mount turbo onto a trcuk with a center mount requires you ue NA or side mounts heads as well. The heads on the center mount were different.

    Swapping a 6.5 HMMWV into the m1008

Yep, the center mount turbo setups require some signifigant firewall modification to fit. HMMWV's use the center mount turbo style GM used in vans, some RV's and box trucks. On all those the removable dogbox made fitting it and servicing it easy. Trucks and blazers use the side mount turbo...

I don't have an answer, but if your surge brake assy and master cyl is in good shape I would be interested in buying it.

    URGENT MIGRATION recall from GOVT

Nope. Nobody tracks it in that detail. Maintenance records are retained a few years, then destroyed, and rarely follow a vehicle from unit to unit/

    How much water is ok?

Water in the manifold is not the same as water in the fuel system. You can get water injection for a 6.5 and it will improve power and lower EGT's. But inject that exact same amount of water into the fuel just before the IP and your result will not be the same...

    URGENT MIGRATION recall from GOVT

At least for the Army, there realy is not a reliable tracking of hours or miles. The unit will track usage via SAMS-E, but when a meter or odometer is replaced they will just start going with the new reading.

    URGENT MIGRATION recall from GOVT

I am not suprised- those trailers really shouldn't have been sold when we are still buying them to replace 101's.

    advise

The only times I have seen a 101 fail ike that it was both severly overloaded and they "dumped" it to a full 90 degrees lifting the wheels off the ground. If you abuse anything like that it will break..........

The DMV is convinced my M1031 is a Dodge?

That is because the way the VIN's are set upin DMV databases the trucks get listed as a D30 Postal unit. Evidently whoever set up the DMV VIN system assumed all trucks purchased by the .gov would be for the post office, so any truck with a VIN coded as a Federal purchase automatically gets...

    How much water is ok?

Fuel doesn't compress either. It is when the water flashes to steam, and the steam does compress, that things get screwed up fast.

    How much water is ok?

Water will destroy an IP or injector quickly. When the injector or plunger in the IP compresses the fuel it does it very quickly. Mix in water and under the pressure and heat the water will flash to steam. Steam + no lubrication, no "cushion" and the will quickly destroy your fuel system parts.
