Yep- your relay killed your starter.
As a temporary fix, find a 12v starter (parts stores even in Mexico should have them)
Get 3 feet of battery cable and 12 feet of 10ga wire as well, and some electrical tape.
Remove old starter and set it in the cab. Tape over the ends of the wires that...

There were no 6.5's in 88.
However, some 2000+ GEP 6.5.s did come with V belt setups from the factory, they were used in place of 6.2's in a truck that needed a 6.2. They were non turbo engines.
I have one here now, with a civilian 6.5 turbo on it.
Some lots will let you.
But you won't have tags, won't have a title, won;t have a valid registration, and you have no clue if the vehicle is safe to operate on the highway.
You are still good to go. Event 10XXX lots will get SF-97's, I asked them about this.
Seems they ran out of lower numbers and just restarted at 10001, but didn't update the policy listing yet.
Yup, try that. If cooling it off with water (go slow) lets it start right up, your IP is on its way out.
The "Hot no-restart" issue is well known to be an issue with the Stanadyne pumps as they go out. Low lubricty fuels aggravate the issue.
Sounds like a fuel issue. I have had failing IP's do that.
I is mostly likely an IP on its way out that is not working properly when it sits and soaks up heat. If you let it cool for a few hours does it start easier?
They crack the main bearing web or the crank if people don't pay attention and keep running bad harmonic balancers. Take a look at your engine every couple weeks and you will be fine.
Driveshafts will fit.
You will need a 208 Transfer case that came from behind a 700r4 or Th350 for the output shaft to fit, the TV cable and a TV cable pracket for a 6.2.
That said a 700r4 isn't much of an advantage in a 1009 with the 3.08 gears.
