    Nostalgic Air Brackets and Turbo

I have the Nostalgia Air compressor mount on one of my trucks. I have a few GM turbo set ups to look at as well. I don’t see the trouble with putting the Nostalgia air compressor on a truck with a GM turbo. After all, GM put a Sanden type compressor on the turbo side of the engine after 1998 or...

That looks like a fun project. Enjoy.

    6.2 and 6.5 engine questions

Do a deep dive into the relationship between the compression ratio and boost for the 6.5. Lowering compression makes the engine live on constant boost compared to a stock engine that lives on 0 boost except when needed. Huge difference.

Here is the video of it taking off over my head:

    Converting From Generator to Alternator

I converted my Gasser M35 from a 25 amp generator to a 60 amp alternator. I had to change the pulley. Everything else mounting wise was a direct bolt on. Wiring of course was different.

Hmmm..do you like low flying aircraft?....then here ya go!

FiFi was in College Station a year ago tomorrow. I went to see and hear it. South wind that day thankfully so I was able to drive around to the departure end of the runway and get a video of it taking off over me. The swapped to 2800 engines years ago to make maintenance cheaper and easier...

    Can’t get a new radiator replacement M1008

I went with the biggest aluminum replacement radiator I could a few years ago on my Cowdog truck. I got it from Radiator Express. They seem to be out: https://www.radiatorexpress.com/part-lookup/radiator/chevrolet/1985/k30/base/62l-v8 This place seems to have them in stock though...

    New to the CUCV world.

I think it is fitting that picture shows a broken rear window handle. They all break!

    WAIT light question

One of mine did that when I first got it. I could leave the key on with no wait light, open the hood and jiggle the wires at the connector for the glow plug temp sender on the drivers side head rear inside the valley. I would jiggle until I heard the relay click and then get back in to start...

Last (and only) cold start advance/high idle post/question

That is about what I paid on Amazon the last time I replaced one a few years ago.

    Towing a M35?

I agree it is not a fun experience. But, if he was wanting to do it once, at a low speed and with safe thoughts in his head. Then it might be cheaper than buying a trailer.

Anyone titled/registered a truck through the mail, in TX?

Tax, title and license. 6.25% of what they think it is worth as sales tax then a few more things. You should be done for an amount in the low hundreds.

    Towing a M35?

You want to trailer it to the trail head or just to get it initially? You could always flat tow it at a slower speed. I brought one of mine home with my M715. I had a pair of M715 engines in the back of the M715 for ballast and 26 mph was as fast as I could go and still have control. But, a...

Last (and only) cold start advance/high idle post/question

    Yes, very pricey: https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c/acdelco/lighting---electrical/connectors-sockets/cold-advance-solenoid-connector/d905667a342b/acdelco-switch-assembly/acd0/10154649

    Door panels and windows

Contractor trash bags from Walmart are pretty good at keeping the cold wind from coming in through the door handle in the winter has been my experience. Held on with duct tape of course.

Last (and only) cold start advance/high idle post/question

Look at the drivers side head right behind the alternator and above the exhaust. You will see the temperature idiot light sensor. Since the heads for both sides are the same casting. The same hole for the sensor on the drivers side is the hole in the head at the rear of the passenger side for...

Last (and only) cold start advance/high idle post/question

Yes, the green wire does both the fast idle solenoid and the cold advance in side the injection pump. Except for about 6 days a year here in Texas you don’t need it.

New injection pump and binding throttle mystery

It is easier for people to help you if you keep your problems to just one thread. I just answered your other thread to find the same question and pictures here.

    14066255 throttle solenoid M1009

If the fast idle solenoid is working. Then it doesn’t need replacement. The sensor on the outside rear of the passenger head is either faulty or the wire leads have been mashed together causing the solenoid to not turn off. The sensor is supposed to put power to the solenoid any time the...

    Door panels and windows

Do you have the felt channels on the front and back of the door glass? The front channel has an adjustment as well.
