    whats the rim size? im thinking of changing one over to civi stuff also. the 1100's are hard for me to keep up with. the mil tires wear very fast and dont take nearly the weight and speed that a radial will. and for the M819 the 1200's are nearly impossible to get!

    Towing an M818

    If your lift towing why not pull the shaft at the front drive? just pull the one end and tie it up. only takes 5 mins. takes a lot of worry out of things. 60 miles? i would make the fuel issue workable if possible and drive it!

    No time yet to hook it to the M819. heck it still has a M127 and a M105 sitting on top of it! I will get it unloaded on sat. it pulls like any other 50' trailer. the only difference is the MV trucks dont turn very tight. also as far as hooking it to the M819, i need to figure out how to...

    got my M270 home the other day. the data plate shows cargo cover dimentions. any one have the manuals for this beast? the info on the plate reads ORD 9-SNL G 802 TM 9-8240 LO 9-8240 SER # 1478 Stock # G2802-8358925 2-10-56 Checker Cab Co any info would help thanks

    From what i have found its the hyd ram on the right side that takes most of the wear. just pull the cotter pin and tighten it up a bit if its loose.

    I'm working on an oilbath setup for the rears. might do one for the front also but it will be a little more complicated. and yes i feel lucky for finding this slight problem before all heck broke loose!

    yes when i pulled the drive flange oil ran out. not good. jwaller got it rite. inner seal puked. strangely enough it ruined the outer wheel bearing also. my theory is that the oil washed the grease out of it and then did not provide proper lubrication for the bearing as it was not allways...

    Not expensive just time consuming. I had 5 hrs into this today. not to bad when you think about all the little things that are a part of the job. Have i mentioned lately how much i LOVE juice brakes? what a pita!

    ready to leave sat morn with the XM818 & M131A4 and blow wheel cyl. Park the thing and grab the M35 and go. sun morn dig into it and find a little more than planned.
