Charge the front battery and then swap the front battery to rear, rear battery to front and see if the problem moves. As noted above, 12 volts is a dead battery. You should see 12.7 volts fully charged.
Thanks for all the great pictures Mark, and for making the effort to organize our entry in the Orlando Veteran's Day Parade! Also, thanks to Roger for arranging the staging and display at Ace Cafe, a very cool place to hang out. I hope we can stage there again next year!
I went by the Ace cafe today. Looks like parking could be a little tight.
How many groups are staging there and is the parking lot also open to regular Ace customers?
I considered doing this too. However, the m915A1 is all 12 volts except the starter and the provision to power 24 volt trailer lights. My truck also has air conditioning, but it is all 12 volts and even with that the electrical load is not high. It didn't make sense to add another component that...
The small post terminal between the B+ and B- is connected to one of the rectifier studs. It will have continuity through the rectifier diodes between the B+ and B- terminals depending on the polarity of the test leads.
That is normal.
I don't know about the 36SI fitting. I believe they are only 12 volts or 24 volts depending on which model you get. They are not dual voltage alternators.
The 30SI is 90 amps @ 12 volts. Realistically, I would not expect the 24 volt output to supply more than about 20 amps. My comment about the...
I'm trying to reach Bighorn and have been corresponding with him. The last PM I tried to send today had this error:
"Bighorn has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her."
I don't know if...
I can supply aftermarket Delco 30si alternators with the 12 and 24 volt outputs. This is the alternator I installed on my M915A1 and is a modern brushless design. PM me for details.
Here is the thread...
Good point. It doesn't matter that you exactly copied the OE, it's not the OEM part.
At that point, you are the manufacturer and will have the liability.
Laser accuracy is very good and to me that is worth a lot. My last fabrication project was all stainless steel mostly 0.25 inch thick had a lot of weldments with keying features for welding assembly and rectangular tubing with bushed pass throughs for pivots etc. I spoke with the fab shop owner...
If you make that as a casting, the tooling cost will be too high even in China. I haven't tooled anything that size, but about half as large with similar complexity was north of $10k with a piece price of around $10 using ADC 6 or 12.
Your best bet is to fabricate that as a weldment. Depending...
