Newer cars have a sealed gas tank and system so the lighter gases cant escape a they did in the old vented cap vehicles. This could explain some of the success you had with the car.
I would think that open flames are a No No with oils. Your are correct heat will not travel down below the element very far. Like a hot water heater when cold the top element will be energized until the upper section gets to temp then lower element comes on until that section gets to temp. Only...
I know this is an old thread but I also have ran stale gas. One way was in a 1988 ford f250 with a dual tank. I switched back to the "good" tank when stopping. Then starting on "Good Gas" then switching back until next shut down time. Any time you shut down on stale gas and let the motor cool...
The Waste Veg Oil burners do this all the time. Look up Golden fuel systems or greascar to give you some ideas. When I use the mixture mine will start just has to grind a little more than pure diesel.
Has anyone used one of these. Looking into using to one like it if GL sells one close enough to me. Couple months ago some sold at Meade for about $200. I am just gathering supplies now for my waste oil setup.
I have done a few recoveries of trailers out of Meade and New Castle so far with a bill of sale from GL. The most important things to do is:
1- Working lights
2- Load secure (aurthorties like nothing moving)
2- Safety chains ( I hook a 4foot piece of chain with hooks on each end looped over and...
Inspecting is the best but sometimes not an option. Bought two 923s one inspected one not. The one we didn't inspect we bought at a price we could live with by what the pictures showed. I also live by the theroy to always to "Get" two just for the fact of parts. I realize that this is not an...
Great looking truck. Looks to be very little rust if any. I also noted the star on the door. Was it a Red River reset? Also just a question has anyone out there added a turbo set up on a A1. Is it possible? I have a 1990 Ford (civilian) 7.3 and a turbo helped it out a lot.
Great score. I have been looking at the kitchens. I currenlty have a shell (avatar) Im going to be using for my alternative fuel processing shelter. Looking at the MKTs that the surplus market is getting its very tempting.
Hey Beyond Biodiesel or others
I have been filtering and blending different oils for a while now. Is there any oil a person should stay away from. I have found that thinner oils act just like diesel but is there an oil that should be avoided completely? One that I have access to is some used...
All right now I want one. Not sure if I want a 4 door but a bobbed would be nice. Like your choice of paint. Can you tell where you bought it and what shade it is?
I also bought one of these year unknown. Sent the paperwork in for a 1990. What was the year range for the 923? Maryland needs to be 25 to put on historic plates. Our plan is to get it prepped mechanically now and tag it Jan 2 (or when the road salt leaves).\
Just a question do you typically...
Does anyone know if the military is planning on selling a lot of Mkt's? Seen GL sell some lately been thinking about another one that is more equipped. The one I got is empty.
Just curious, what price does a "cannibalized" condition" Mep go for? This could be a way for me also to get spare parts. It would appear that once the government gets rid of all the gensets parts will be hard to get at a reasonable price.
Hey all
Looking for the surge brake shock for a M101a2 trailer. Any one got any? Or know where to get them. Looking for 4 (not for the one trailer). Found them on the net for around $70.00. but thought the show would be better.
Thanks Robert
