These look like MRAP wheels to me. There are many different styles of them both in aluminum and steel. I think I know of at least 6 different versions of the MRAP wheels now. Are you sure the center hole is 12.125-11.1875"? I'm going to guess they are 11.125-11.1875". Let me know if you...
I'm obviously a fan of MRAPs as I sell the adapters for them. You don't need to flip the hubs to run them but they may stick out a touch further than stock duals depending on what style mrap wheel you find. Otherwise hemtt wheels can be converted by cutting and welding for slightly more than...
The new seals went on fine with a little silicone grease (dielectric is all I had handy) and fixed the leaks. The glad hands fit much tighter now also (which is a good thing). Thanks again for all the help
Just trying to help. Not all of us have a plasma cutter or torch, and even if we did they may ruin a salvageable spindle. I cut hardened Thompson rod all the time with abrasive saws. A small aluminum oxide grinding bit is the same thing just in a smaller package. I've also put plenty of flats...
If I was in your place I'd try to cut the bearing race in one spot (the one stuck on the spindle). Once you have cut a groove through as much of it as you can then stick a chisle in the cut area to break/spread it to get it off. Obviously there isnt room to get any cuttoff wheel in there but...
I just hooked up the m105a2 brakes yesterday and noticed I had a slight leak from the Red emergency side glad hand on the truck. The black rubber seal was a little chewed up so I just went to Napa to get some new ones. They had red and blue in stock so I bought 3 of each.
The new ones have a...
Thanks! Also I know my posts get "wordy" but if you read a couple you will start seeing a pattern of "Craigslist","eBay", & "scrap". Most things I bought were either used or I paid pennies on the dollar for them. The few expensive items I bought were paid for by selling other things. It...
Thanks for the info, it was overhauled in 04 and it has 2 hoses. I just tried it out with both hooked up, it works well but I just had to replace the drain valve on that cute little 105 air tank (someone must have hit it and broke it off). The one glad hand rubber seal is leaking too.
Yes, I gained about 10mph. I now drive 55 on the highway at around 2100-2200 rpm I think. Being that the tires are taller but the gearing is the same, it did feel underpowered after the new wheels and having the trailer attached. I turned up the fuel 4 flats (2/3 turn) and it helped. I did...
I wouldn't consider it an odd question because I searched for months for it. As soon as one would pop up on craigslist, it would sell in an hour or 2, and I wasnt fast enough. Its an Ikea couch I got off of craigslist, its called a "Fagelbo" which is an older version of the "MANSTAD". The...
I think I have all the original posts now updated with both pictures and write ups. I'll continue to put up new posts of progress as I make it. Thanks for taking the time to check it out.
Well perhaps something he had to say was correct but he is definately wrong on the number of wires coming off the solar panel (see my pic), there are only 2. I'd question everything he said at this point. I would certainly think the PDU doesn't have any electronics in it so it probably could be...
Maybe it would be worth calling Pulsetech and talk with an engineer to see if you can just use the smaller solar panel you have mounted already with the new system instead of the larger panel since you just need it for the distribution box? Even though the large panel has a 3 pin plug coming off...
LowTech, how has this fold down Porch worked for you? Have you made any changes or improvments to it at all or left it as is? I'd like to do something similar at some point so I dont need to constantly disconnect the trailer or step on the hoses.
FYI, future updates are going on my truck build thread here: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?108671-PEASHOOTER-s-M109A3-CAMPER-Build-Thread&p=1376671&viewfull=1#post1376671
I was wondering where to mount it also. Because I didnt want to put any holes in the hardtop I used it as an excuse to make a lightbar for the cab and mounted the panel to that. You can see it here...
Thanks Zout, I have only gotten to see a few pictures here and there of your 109 Build, but never the whole thing. I thought I remember reading that you removed your build thread? Am I correct or more likely just not using the search correctly?
