yeah, I just got that new funnel. My old funnel didnt come with a lid or strainer so I always had a piece of aluminum foil and an old cake pan covering it up. The new one has a lid and strainer, it is plastic which isnt ideal but at $20 I figured it was fair especially for the limited use it...
Thanks for the input guys. I am curious about the blending comment. Since I just dump the WMO into the drum whenever I do oil changes, do I actually need to blend anything? Since I've slowly been filling the drum over 2 years, would there need to be a blending or settling step? I wasnt sure...
When I bought my deuce 2 years ago, I decided to start saving my used oil. I was given a clean 55g drum from work and basically just keep all my old oil from oil changes in my cars and deuce (I didn’t keep any gear lube). Well I've now filled the drum and figured I better get the filter setup...
Thats a big tire!
Also, I used the Nylock 1" nuts and my 1/2" impact couldnt snug them on any faster than me with a breaker bar and cheater pipe either! I guess any locknut that big is bound to be a pain with our "little" tools:)
Ive seen 2 Napa part numbers (via the ss search) for the air system governor from napa, one is MBI KN18534 and its about $55, the other is TWD H284358 and its about $11. I assume they both work? or can anyone verify that the cheaper TWD H284358 is correct...
First pictures of adapted FMTV wheels on a deuce (using these adapters)
I just got a few pictures from one of the first "testers" that I wanted to share. He is using these adapters for some FMTV wheels he had gotten for his deuce. I'll pass along more pics as I get them.
At least you have options now right! I'm not sure what I would do personally since they both have some advantages. The 11:00x20's dualled up on stock wheels would be nice for the spare issue. I like the look of the dualled 11:00x20 a lot also, but I also like the look of matching truck and...
Better late than never... http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?111467-New-Bolt-On-wheel-ADAPTERS-for-FMTV-amp-5-TON-COMBAT-rims&p=1404071&viewfull=1#post1404071
This bolt on adapter fits 3 different combat rims (5 Ton A1/older style, 5 ton A2/Newer style, FMTV)
I know this thread is older, but here is a bolt on adapter plate for the FMTV / LMTV / MTV wheels. It also works with the 5 ton combat rims.

GRINGELTAUBE- could the 10 leaf pack be the oddball that would get the larger spring shim that has nearly 9 degrees of angle to it rather than the more common 4 degrees? I've attached a picture you put together of them a while back.
DEUCER-which one of these spring shim seats looks like the...
Member bbf has some really nice tire/wheels right now (lots of them) here is a link to them: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?111430-New-Aluminum-MRAP-wheels-with-395-XZL
I'll PM you his contact info since he is more of a phone guy.
They end up being close since these don't need 10x -1" bolts/nuts to be purchased like the Mraps do. However, these have about 15 lbs more steel to each one and many extra holes, both of which add $.
FMTV Install Instructions
I know there has been lots of talk of modifying wheels. Usually I tune out when I read “plasma cut”, “water jet”, “turned down on a lathe”, “laser cut”, etc. I figured if a wheel conversion was going to be popular then it had to be easy to do.
Those of us without a...
New Bolt On wheel ADAPTERS for FMTV (MTV/LMTV) & 5 TON COMBAT rims
Just made my first batch of "MULTI-FIT" wheel adapters for the MULTI-FUEL (and those other deuces with the yellow under the hood:D).
This is a bolt on adapter that will fit the following rims to work on the 2.5 Ton Deuce...
I'm interested in possibly getting 8x mounted tires/wheels shipped from Florida to Minnesota. no rush. Thanks, Aaron 763-744-7629

I'm a tight wad more often than not also.... so I looked for the same info a year or 2 ago and this is the thread I found: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?31985-compressor-wrench-size&p=343026&viewfull=1#post343026
I ended up making mine a little different as seen in this post...
I see you live in Milaca, my best advice for you is to go visit Scott in Blaine and get to know him. (tie6044 I think is his SS name) He sells trucks and parts and knows lots of other folks with trucks that may be available for sale also in the region. Fortunately I found him via craigslist when...
I can't remember if these heater circuit valves are open when they are screwed all the way in like this or when they are screwed all the way out. My search skills on SS didnt come through for me on this one.

Below is a drawing of a brake switch mount that you can use with most ball nose plunger brake/reverse/neutral switches. Its based off of Gringeltaube's great concept and design (with help from him in this design as well). If anyone wants this but doesn't have the time or tools to make one then...
