Uhhh....Nice-O :o Nice paint job. What are the two small D-rings on top of the tailgate for in the fifth picture? Canvas tie down maybe?

    Construction Equipment

Thanks Bug and JimK I put "rebuilt" in quotations because his mechanical abilities and practices are far from ideal. He said he found a cylindrical check valve that was damaged inside the loader valve. He replaced it with a new one but still no improvement. I should have supervised him when...

Structural differences in 5-ton tractors vs 5-ton wreckers

RE: Structural differences in 5-ton tractors vs 5-ton wrecke Just a guess but: Do wreckers and dumps have double frames?

    Construction Equipment

Quick tech question: My friend owns a Deutz-Allis 4WD utility tractor 3cyl diesel with a front loader. Its got about 2,200 hrs. so its well worn. It runs and works great except for one thing: The F'n loader is useless. It will move and articulate under a no-load condition. If there is the...

NORTHEAST RALLY: PA, NY, NJ, CT, DE, MD, VA

I apologize for the delay. Thank you for your patience. If you visit www.rauschcreekoffroadpark.org and look at the calender, you will see that is official. The rally will be held the first weekend in October (Fri 4,Sat 5, Sun 6.) Some may have off that Monday and may want to use it as a...

    Another 810 to 251 conversion.

Uhh...Awesome. 20 questions: Are you replicating the actual thickness of the original plating? Do all German halftracks have Tatras? I wonder what the offroad performance and steering cabability is not having a front drive axle like the American halftracks? What kind of tranny...

NORTHEAST RALLY: PA, NY, NJ, CT, DE, MD, VA

Hey Gang, It looks like the Calendar is filling up fast with large club rides and events at Rausch Creek. The first weekend in August looks crowded. September and October are still open at this point. I am voting for Columbus Day weekend myself. Remember to vote by next Wednesday the 14th...

Anybody want to take a guess at these fluid leaks?

I think it is the extreme hot and cold cycles an addition to using the truck frequently after months or years of it sitting. After running My Deuce all day last Sat and Sun, I noticed yesterday that there were multiple weepings of antifreeze everywhere!! I was running 190°-200° both days by...

M923A2 came home with me today!

Thats just too cool. WOW  Whats the HP/Torque specs? How many speeds is the Allison? 5-6? Can you hold it in a certain gear? How'd you get those guys and gals to help load? Most auctions say "buyer loads." Keep the Seebees insignia.

    FINALLY POSTED PICS

Thanks Capt. I have owned the truck now for exactly a year. The truck is versatile and has proven itself many times over. The death whistle is great :o too. Quick question for everyone: When I start it up with no air in the tanks, the horn gives a quick toot when building air pressure...

    The Arctic Kit

What is used for a heat source to be piped down the tube into the shroud? Hot air?

    Working with lead, in bodywork

I would have to say that filling a drill hole with a MIG welder by using very short bursts of the trigger and tacking it closed is alot easier than using lead. If using lead, a "cooling fence" has to be applied to the surface around the hole to keep the heat to the immediate area surrounding...

NORTHEAST RALLY: PA, NY, NJ, CT, DE, MD, VA

OK so far we have two dates to select from: (You may suggest a different date and it will be added to the dates to be voted on.) 1) Weekend of August 3,4,5,6 2) Weekend of October 5,6,7,8, (Columbus Day is the 8th) Remember: PLEASE post by Febraury 14th with your preferred date. I have...

New here, just bought a 1977 M880, so of course.......

I forgot. Rip out all emmissions garbage and related garbage: Air pumps, Catalytic Convertors, 10 miles of vacuum line, etc. The only vacuum lines you need go from the carb to the distributor, and from the carb to the PCV valve. If it has power brakes then there'll be a few more.

New here, just bought a 1977 M880, so of course.......

Engine: If you want more HP without sacrificing economy, I suggest: 1.) High rise dual plane intake manifold..."Edelbrock Performer." You don't need the "Performer RPM" $230 2.) Small four barrel carb...Holley or Carter 600CFM. no bigger. The Holley 4175 series carb is great due to its...

    Moving M246

Up by me $400 would get your CAR!! flat-bedded about 100 miles. I would have to say that 400bucks for a 25,000lbs.+ truck isn't too bad considering the time to load and secure. Are all the tires flat or just cracked?
