See salty water is not a good choise. You will not get the salt out of every carner even you very carfully steam clean your Mog. Axle rebuilding will help. But than never do it again, if you love your Mog. These are VINTAGE vehicles!

That should be the hole for the hour meter in case of beeing a working mashine like a snow thrower for the second engine on the platform to power the snow thrower equipment .

Yes and no to the question of the wheel base. Here in Germany the wheel base is not making a difference of the basic type, it is for the version of the type. For the Frightliner stuff, means the Mogs for the US Army, they made the serial numbers, even for our European understanding being a 406...
Correct, the front one with the filler nec is the spare one. The rear one without filler nec is the main. But do not forget to set your fuel cock to the right position to get fuel out of the spare one, else youi will not sucseede to run the truck (Three way cock on the floor right beside the...
Goatwerks makes a good desription of the capabilities of a Haflinger. Here we count it in beer carrying capacity (at least some people do). With 800 kg payload which is close to 50 % of the GVW, there are not so many vehicles with the same rating in beer carrying capacity and beeing road legal...
Sorry, nothing new. At the last meeting in January this year it was that cold that the batteries in the electronic camera said good by after 1 pic. May be later this year after Schmittenhöhe and Luxembourg.

With the Haflinger we have to consider several points of view!
First: What is the Haflinger made for? Carrying supply in alpin environment. Or simply said: Beer carrying capacity on the smalest possible surface. It beats every Deuce.
Second: Size of the driver: A Deuce is designed for a driver...
Seriousl, the M886 look´s in green much better than in red white trim. Magnus , to your questions about the cut outs: even if it is not original to you knowledge, can you prove that this modification never as made somewhere in the Army.
I know about M886 Ambulances of the US Army, which for...
Reasons might be many: Fuel pressure, float level, fuel filer. This is for you changed allredy the electrical side. However, is the timing correct. Is the old (even NOS) condensor working propperly. Did you check the condensor for a short? Any 4.7 mikofahrad condensor will be fine as a...
To me sounds like a clogged fuel filter. Or the main fuel pump does not work propperly.
Due to the simple designe of the injection pump this device works or works not, as long as the filling fuel pressure is at the minimum required (more than 3 PSI). Other cause might be, that the return valve...
What is the mileage of your truck? Arround 120,000 miles the glow module starts to fail. The other two relais under the dash are simple Bosch relais, available allmost everywhere (at least in Germany), so simply change then as required to new ones.
If your glow plug module refuses to do its job...
Michelin XL's look like that like explained before. However, they are the only tires known that run on soft sand as low as 7 PSI or one bar or even a little less to incresase the carrying surface. To my knowledge nothing bad will happen to these tires with showing the waving sidewalls.
For good...
Lining a new or used gas fuel tank is a good idea. The fuel nowaday contains parts which in longer therm, which means standing at home, after some times will change to esters, which is a kind of acid and starts to eat sheet metall. The result is brown looking gas. It is just a matter of time...
Nice pics! And I found that you did the necessary job afterwards, the cleaning. See salt the the death of the military veterans on wheels or tracks, as well as the stuff they put on the roads in winter to melt the snow.
But the stuff that the animal we drink the milk from or eat leave are as...
Due to the age the capcitors might be dry, so they refuse to do their job. This is a possible reason in the harness. The voltage reading means not very much, if the Amps do not flow.
I only had the problem with the wasche part, so I replaced it by a seperate wascher pump. Else the system worked...
