    M1009 6.2L Banks Turbo Upgrade

I have no Banks kit for sale, have not advertised one for sale and have not been talking with anyone about selling anything on this forum. Either you have your usernames mixed up or are getting scammed.

    Warm Idle

Glow plugs are only needed to start the engine if the internal engine temperature is below 160°. After that how the engine runs is dependent on the injection pump timing, air filter, fuel filter, compression health, idle speed setting and injection pump health. Have you tried turning the idle...

Did spin on filter mod.. Now I can't get it to start.

Yes, you can push the throttle while cranking.

    M1009 6.5 TD swap?

The alternator will be your tach source through something like the Dakota Digital converter.

    Coolant level sensor

The above listing of a ground sequence is why I wrote about how the coolant wire doesn't ever get within a few feet of the IP power wire yesterday. I think you will end up finding a messed up thru firewall plug pin or two, some wires missing insulation that are touching or since you mentioned...

    M1009 6.5 TD swap?

The oil pan will be fine. The exhaust manifolds will fit inside the frame rails. You will have to run a serpentine belt or change the water pump to run V belts. Other than that, it will be the same fabrication required to add the GM turbo the 6.2 was going to require.

    Coolant level sensor

The wire for that sensor runs with the headlight wiring around the front of the truck. The pink wire that turns on the Injection pump comes down the valve cover and over the rear of the engine. Basically, they don't come within a few feet of each other. So, the level sensor shorting out the...

    Headlights flash with turn signals

Really, really, really check all the grounds for the blinkers on that side of the truck. Start with the screws into the blinker buckets, maybe even pull the lens covers off and make sure the ground wires inside the blinker bucket are connected and clean.

    6.2/6.5 Turbo Build

There are standard turbo flanges. A #3 and a #4 in this case. I forget which is which, but the Banks and GM are not the same number. However, the hot set up for the Banks Chevy kit is to put a Bank Ford kit turbo on it. That one has a waste gate and pushes more boost off idle. But, really...

    6.2/6.5 Turbo Build

Yes, the parts will bolt up and it will run great. Getting the crossover pipe and down pipe run will be an exercise in frustration on a CUCV. But, very doable. Here is what I think is a more important question. Why do you want a turbo? If you plan to hook up a 8,0 00 pound trailer and drive...

    Tow BAR M1009

While the military "Medium" tow bar is very heavy, it along with the 1 inch feet work perfect for the CUCV trucks. Since I got an aluminum Ibis though, I haven't gotten my big heavy steel one out. If you get an Ibis, make sure you get the matching feet. They are different than the Medium feet.

    Glow Plug Module Problem

Verify the ‘89 has the same type of fuse panel before you play. I have an ‘87, ‘88 and a ‘90. The ‘90 has a way different fuse panel than the others. They come apart the same, but if you are going to practice at least practice with similar parts.

No brake pedal pressure after bleeding brakes.

I second the power bleeder suggestion. A garden sprayer can be made into one easily. Motive products makes a really good one as well. if you already have a power bleeder or have the Soldier B thing correct. Then you have air getting in between the rear seal of the master cylinder and the...

No brake pedal pressure after bleeding brakes.

I am confused. What brake fluid bleeder are you opening that gives you compressed air? If you did everything perfect and had a perfect system. You could still have no pedal because of the master cylinder push rod adjustment or because your shoes need either a minor or major adjustment. M35...

What does the Gen 2 relay do?

A relay is just a switch remotely controlled through electricity. If you look at a CUCV battery wiring set up. No power is pulled from the front battery (Battery 1). It just has a negative lead going to ground and the positive going to the back battery (Battery 2). Basically, the batteries are...

M1007 - CUCV Suburban Clone Build Thread

Ohhhhhh....Hidden rust is a heart breaker.

M1007 - CUCV Suburban Clone Build Thread

Put an inch wide or so chalk mark across the tread. Drive straight for 100 yards or so. Get out and see if any chalk is left. Chalk in the middle means under inflated. Chalk on the edges mean too much psi. I haven’t done the chalk test yet because the mold flashing is still on the tread. Very...
