William at Delk's said it was not a good idea to run the gen at 120V. He may have been thinking about the possible fault condition. The instructions say run a jumper from LO to #6 in section G. I am unable to find out where this is. As a side note, William passed away near Christmas. He was...
I have a MEP-002a and had it checked out at Delk's. They put it on a load bank and could find no problems with it. When using this generator it goes (240V setting) first into a SMA Smartformer which drops the voltage to 120v and then to a charge controller to charge batteries. When used in this...
There is a small lever on the tongue near the brake fluid reservoir. It has teeth on it. What does this do? Also I am having problems with the brakes sticking, How can I free them up?
Have a MEP -002. When it's running with a small load (500W), it works fine. voltage is fully adjustable. When I then add a load up to say 50%, the voltage drops to 200V (from 240V), and is no longer adjustable. What could this be? Thanks to all in advance for your help!
When hooking generator to house wiring, do I only ground the trailer to the ground rod? I saw that the ground rod wire should not be hooked to the generator neutral, but that the generator neutral should tie into the house neutral, Is that right?
Where is the internal jumper that connects the equipment ground to the neutral? I have my mep002 hooked to my house and may have the neutral and equipment ground bonded.
Sometimes when I start my mep002 the voltage drops to about 200v under load. When this happens the voltage adjustment will not raise voltage. If I keep trying and the voltage stays at 240v it works fine. Are their brushes that might need checking?
Thanks for the feedback. I checked my solder joint and it is holding. When I start the generator and turn the breaker on sometimes the voltage drops. I can hold the knob on start and reflash the field. Sometimes this will cause the voltage to not fall and it will generate fine. I don't have to...
In replacing diode I cut wire too short. I soldered a short piece of wire onto diode to make it reach and have tried numerous times to solder two wires together. It will last for a few days (running generator daily) and then come apart. Is there some type of crimp that will last in that...
How much does the ASK reduce the noise level? Are there any mep002a's in eastern TN with the ASK that I could listen to? How much difference would just a muffler make?
Thanks
