    HEMTT Insurance

I have my M927A2 insured through Progressive on a Farm Semi-commercial policy. I pay around $650.00 a year (it varies because I do installments) for full coverage. The truck is insured for $15,000.00. I run farm plates on it and to get that rate it has to be on a Farm Semi-commercial policy...

Buying a M939 at auction: What to look for and to be prepared to fix

I have a very nice M927A2 that I might consider selling. I drive it occasionally to keep it exercised but I only take it on one long trip a year to the GA rally. I modified it to pull my van trailer by replacing the 20 foot stock bed with a 16 foot dropside bed and putting a 5th wheel behind...

    M49 worth keeping a tank on ?

I scrapped out a taker several years ago. If yours has the stainless steel tank you can make some good money. You have to cut off all the other steel off it to get max money.

M939 Series vs FMTV Series trucks, Pros and Cons

Anything with a yaller motor in it is going to cost you money when it breaks. Those are basically disposable engines.

    Cab Comparisons

For working on the engine you can't beat the 900 series. I've owned both (have an M927A2 now) and standing on your head to work on the engine in an 800 series sucks. The 900 series rides a lot better too. I put an aftermarket seat in mine and it made a huge difference in comfort.

Roadside assistance pre-planning, Nashville to Savanna

There are several members along that route. Some of them should post up. If you do have an issue and can post on the fly you can always post an SOS and folks will respond. Good luck.

Rock Mountain Wildfire - North Georgia

We have no measurable rain in over 55 days in NE Alabama. My pond is dry. most of my fish have either been eaten by the egrets or are fins up. We have been lucky that no fires have burned in the immediate area but there have been some in the county. If I catch someone starting a fire the...

Parking brake-- Do I need it?

An emergency brake is like a parachute. If you ever need it and don't have it you probably won't ever need it again.

Considering a M927 or M928 to live in...

I have an M927A2 that has been modified to pull a military van trailer. I pulled the 20 foot bed and replaced it with a dropside and put a 5th wheel behind the bed to pull the van with. That allows me to still have a cargo truck but also be able to pull the mobile "Stabbin Cabin". I have a 20...

    Go Big Or Go Home

IMHO the M105 bed thing has been way over done. The wheelbase and bed are too short. It needs a flat bed with tool storage underneath and dual stacks. Then it would look like a truck.
