My stock dodge ram is ~4.5 turns and aftermarket boxes are 3.5 turns. My M35 will be 3.75 turns lock to lock which will be somwehere nice in the middle. If the power isn't enough, I'll add an assist cylinder.
The HF54 is five turns lock to lock (95 degree sweep) and has 12.200 in-lbs force with 1kpsi pump. There is an 8.5" pitman arm available on the four port box.

Can you share the length of your draglink? I live two hours from my truck. Having the details really helps me get as much prep'ed ahead of time as possible. I am having the local machihne shop make a sleeve to mate two tie rod ends together.
Cavitation erosion is mostly limited to wet sleeve engines and those engines with a history of erosion (ie. Ford powerstroke). AFAIK, this is not one of the multi's weaknesses.
I'm working on doing the HF54 power steering conversion outlined by gringeltaube. I have an idea on how to mate the HF54 with the gamma goat column and would like to know if it seems reasonable.
It appears that the HF54 u-joint is the L600 series. Fixed and slip yokes are available in this...

Any concerns about the length of the pitman arm? Can the poppet be adjusted to limit travel?
I think that the best method (and what I plan to do) is use the cad file and CNC mill to drill out the holes of a new frame stiffener. Using the original steering box holes for aligniment, drill out the rest of the holes using the frame stiffener as the template. I'd probably free-hand the...
I was fortunate to find a steering box this weekend. Wasn't sure if it was going to be a problem having the ports for the assist cylinder but you can see that they are in parallel with the internal cylinder and the steering rebuilder that this shop uses says to just block off the assist ports. 5...
One intersting point is that the cummins has a 20gpm oil pump yet the filters aren't rated for that flow.

My understanding is that it was developed for Case.
Here are some of the design details

To those who are new to the diesel game, the Cummins B-series engine is thought of as an inline-six-cylinder engine that's used in Dodge trucks. In...
