    Ok, The Mystery Continues

Just curious, were you using M35 Tom's head gaskets or old stock?

Guess I'm looking at head gaskets

    Painting Stainless

To add a little detail: There are four general types of bond mechanisms : ionic (NaCl), covalent (metals), mechanical (bolt and nut, velcro), and van der waal (scotch tape, gecko). It is generally accepted that paint adheres via a combination of van der waal and mechanical bonds. Sandblasting...

    22.5 Rims on deuce

You'll spend more to have them recentered than it will cost to get the right wheel. Rims are $50-100 each in my area. Recentering is ~$300 each. Used tires are easy to find at truck shops.

Anyone have a rod bolt they could loan me or know their measurements?

Will this require that the big end be resized or is this a remove and replace?

    Spring hangar

I was never able to do it runing Firefox; Explorer works fine.

Anyone have a rod bolt they could loan me or know their measurements?

It'd be great if you could quantify the strength improvement of your rod bolt kit and include a one-piece pan gasket. Should sell itself.

    My truck got NOS!!!

NOx is a term that describes oxides of nitrogen (NO and NO2) which are a component of vehicle exhaust and contribute to photochemical smog. NOy describes NO3 and so on. N2O is nitrous oxide.

    Building full hydro steering

The drag link is basically a G21 valve one one end with the other end custom built. The trouble is, it is a $1200 drag link. Hard to justify if the HF54 can be done for significantly less. I have been hoping to fine a G21 in a salvage yard and get just the balance of parts from Garrison.

5 ton mf power steering pump on m35a2

Anyone know the torque for the nut that holds the gear onto the pump?

What don't you like about the Boyce kit? I'd be interested in which drag link valve you are referring to. Garrison Mfg makes a new drag link valve with correct ball studs but they are spendy. They will also make standard drag links for those who want to do alternative steering boxes but don't...

I am contemplating a ram assist. Any reason why the Boyce ram/bracket wouldn't be suitable for street use?

1955 Reo Deuce Gasser Carb Conversion

I have found that the GMC and REO carbs have slightly different jets. Forget about the 885FFG and get a modern Holley 2300 series 2bb. The economaster is the best and has excellent driveability. Use a large holley to rochester adapter available at any speed shop.

I Start Changing Out Head Gaskets Today

The gasket that M35-tom sells is made by victor. According to VR literature, this part number was released in 2005. I suspect that this is the newest design available.

    Connecting Rods

Dave, I mispoke on the reference. It was actually Design and Applications in Diesel Engineering, edited by Sam Haddad and Neil Watson. "The bearing cap joint should preferably be at 90 degrees to the rod axis as this offers more rigidity, better bearing support, lower cost and easeir...
