    Mep803a questions

For the heatpump if you don't have a hard starting kit on it now I would recommend installing one if you are running on generator much. It will soften the compressor inrush significantly. Also on my heatpump I moved the heat strips onto their own circuit, separating them from the circuit that...

    Replacement access doors for MEP-803a

Thats what I was thinking. Some metalworking time would make that like it never happened.

    Mep803a questions

On top of the great info above I'll add my opinion on pricing. This is only my opinion based on what I see them selling for here in central NC. The markets in your area may be very different. If you want to buy one that is in known working condition with low hours and is ready to go you should...

Snowing, Power Out and MEP003A running again

I'm glad the snow and ice here in NC didn't take the power out. The sun is shining this morning so we should be out of trouble till the next event.

    MEP-831a Inverter Problem

The only way to know for sure is to compare it to the manual. Errors do happen.

    MEP-831a Inverter Problem

Can you take apart the two inverters and look for problems? Are you sure all the wires between the PMA and inverter are correct?

    MEP-803A Injection Pump sticking

Be careful with polishing this stuff. The tolerances are very very small. You may be better off sending it off to a shop that can fix it if disassembling and cleaning doesn't correct the problem.

    Resurrecting a waterlogged mep-803A

I think the chances of inducing other problems is lower with an engine swap. The more stuff you disconnect the more opportunities you'll have that an error can happen. When you have the option go with the simplest, least invasive repair.

    MEP-803a Auto/Remote start module

#6 for a 120 ft run will be a 2.5% voltage drop which is fine for a MEP803. No problem going bigger for future proofing.

    MEP-803a Auto/Remote start module

Solar one even? That is a great application for solar assuming its not full time shaded. If it is shaded you can go with an oversized panel and still get plenty of energy to keep a battery topped up.

MEP-804A single phase 120/240 conversion issue

I've been wondering the same. I don't have access to one to check out. It will take a bit of disassembly to get the alternator off to check. It would be ideal if someone had a spare stator and could do some investigation. You can look at it without pulling any wires apart. If the joint isn't...

    MEP-803a Auto/Remote start module

I'm a fan of doing a 4 pair, 18 GA shielded cable and a CAT6 in the control conduit. That will give you a number of control and monitoring options.

MEP-804A single phase 120/240 conversion issue

All of the units above the 10kw MEP803 are 10 wire heads.

MEP-804A single phase 120/240 conversion issue

The question comes down to how you intend to use it. If its for home backup then don't worry about it. Run it off 2 phases and be done. You can you can take the third phase and run it to a fridge in the garage or any other easy to connect corded loads. If you are going for a prime power...
