Well there is no frame mount structure above this to attach to for a pull type down limit, you would have to add a tower of some sort. Using straps for something like that is not the best in my opinion anyway as I don’t think they age well and have a cyclic limit. it would be far easier to...
I would keep a close eye on the bags and straps. The 83035 shock you chose has at least 1“ more travel than the bag is supposed to have. I have seen 2 different specs for those bags, 3”- 6” and 2.88”- 6.25” Or between 3 and 3-3/8” of travel. That shock has a bump stop and cutoff valve on the...
Yep I love hardlines, and this one would not have been an issue if they had simply added support or routed it so it was not overhung… to be fair, where hoses are specified, typically so are inspection and replacement intervals for the reasons mentioned…
oh yeah thats a bad/fouled pressure regulator. You should get 10PSI cranking, 25 PSI at idle and it should shift up to a stable 60PSI as you ramp up the RPM. At any given RPM the pressure should be very stable(once you cancell out the pulsations from the pump with a snubber/restricter. Below...
Yea what General said would not surprise me at all. ABS/Traction control vehicles occasionally do this, and from what I have seen of the LMTV ABS wiring, the system looks like it could be capabel of traction control, but the LMtV does not have the air supply plumbing to the actuators... if...
If I kept the steel line I would support it back to the block in the middle of the loop.
The issue is the oem is like a ruler held on the edge of a table like a diving board. Twang it enough and it will fatigue and break...
Dont have this issue with hose...
That hydraulic hose is more forgiving of bend radius than the braided teflon, but it was probably still closing in on minimum bend radius, so they were probably encouraged to lengthen it a little. A little longer is better IMO. Some of the teflon installs I have seen are downright scary tight.
Well if you can extend the bags by hand(which I am guessing you probably can), but not compress them to their minimum height, then they probably have an internal bump stop. Very desirable for this application IMO…
How did you arrive at that shock? It has alot of travel(4.22”). Does the bag have an internal bump stop? The gabriels are a pretty cool design, with most of their cab shocks using a hydraulic cutoff to brake the rebound, and internal bump stops.
So were you ever able to see if there are any wire numbers stamped on the wire insulation itself. Usually black numbers on the white insulation. Typically 4 characters like 461B or 1911 ect… you may have to unwrap the wire bundle a little to access enough wire to get to the numbers…
The brake system only requires air. With air in the system and the park control pushed in, take a big hammer and give the inner edge of the brake drums a solid smack. it should ring like a bell, the brake shoe material sometimes rusts to the inner face of the drum, and the concussion and...
Why would you want to bypass the LBCD/PPD(polarity box)? the way they wired the truck, the PPD is a junction point. 2 wires go to the battery box, 2 wires go to the alternator and 2 wires go to the cab, so it is not practical to bypass it unless you are redesigning the electrical...
