    6.2 to 6.5TDL?

I addition to what many have said here, you cannot just bolt a center mount turbo setup onto the NA or side mount turbo 6.5, as the heads are different. The AMG 6.5 blocks are vast by Navistar now, and they are much better quality than what GM was casting.

Was my truck overhauled by the military?

No, there is no big central repository of maintenance information for these vehicles. On the Army side that info is maintained at the unit level in the SAMS-E computer, and when the vehicle is transferred out all that history information info goes onto a floppy disk to be sent to the gaining...

Was my truck overhauled by the military?

The only way to be sure your truck was rebuilt is if there is a metal tag on the dash with the rebuild dates, or if something like "T.E.A.D" stamped in the data plate.

Jefferson City 6.2l engine - WON! anybody want ahaul it for $100?

True, however a short run without coolant you are also likely to miss a cracked head, block, or blown head gasket. Given that these engines were removed for one reason or another, I think it is prudent to do a full test run if you are going to bother.

Jefferson City 6.2l engine - WON! anybody want ahaul it for $100?

I am toying with the idea of trying to test run one in the container. At a minimum you will need- Starter with 24V (or a 12v starter) 24V swtiched to the IP 24v to the glow plugs Fuel in and the return line, I suggest an electric pump. Bypass the oil cooler lines Radiator or a seatdy source of...

Jefferson City 6.2l engine - WON! anybody want ahaul it for $100?

That one does have an IP, and it is from a HMMWV (you can tell as the intake and exhaust manifolds as well as the fan clutch are different) based on the pictures. I have purchased several like that, and use them for parts and sell off what I don't need to buy other parts. You can use the 24V...

I am Garand_Shooter over there, and I am not far from you so if you need any help with anything. Sprags can be a pain in the ass for a number of reasons, I much prefer the air shift.

    Injector Line Replacement?

Take the manifod off. I always test run the engine with the manifold off after working on the pump, lines or injectors as well. Better to find a problem before you get everything back on. Just make sure there are no loose sockets or nuts that can drop into the intake valves.

Assuming your the same guy who uses that username on Arfcom, there is a real nice M35A2 on Craiglist in Winston for $3000. A bit higher than GL, but already titled in NC, you can test drive it and know it runs, and no GL headaches. In my book it is likely worth the extra $$$, especially on your...

    Deuce Crank case oil

Any diesel rated oil- the API Rating will start with a C such as CI or CJ in the proper weight (15w-40 in most situations). CI and CJ are the two most common diesel rated oils you will see right now. API-Cxxxx = diesel oil API-Sxxxx gas engine oil Some oils are rated for both

Again, GL sucks for customer service

That one there just smacks of a giant case of fraud, waste and abuse. Spending extra taxpayer funds to reduce the overhead , thus increase profits of a civilian entity does not pass the smell test.

    BAE protests FMTV Oshkosh award

As an end user, I have always found Oskosh vehicles to have better initial quality that S&S provides. And Oskosh has given far, far better factory support.

    Just found an Aardvark

We come from the same unit. A MICLIC is used to breach a hasty lane through a minefield under fire, when you need to do it very fast and can accept some risk that not all the mines will be removed. A flail is used for clearing an entire area, instead of a hasty breach through a minefield. A...

    injectors

What markings are on the box and on the units themselves?
  19. Chief_919

    injectors

Watch out for the Ebay injectors and parts. Lots of them are Chinese of dubious quality. Even some with Bosch markings are fakes. 95% of teh Ebay "marine" injectors are Chinese units and really are not marine or high flow at all. I will also second the advice to not rebuild your own. Unless...
