Did y'all change tire sizes to 11's? I'm guessing the hills down there slow y'all down. I used to live in Snellville (just south of US 78) and know the Atlanta terrain well. How do y'all sustain 55 when I'm struggling with 52? I'd love to see how y'all spec'd her out!
I remember that truck from when I was a high school student at Tilton School! The owner of the company, U.S. Hydraulics was really cool! He had all kinds of cool trucks and jeeps! I remember drooling over that stuff. Y'all sure know how to cause flashbacks!

That's what we're aiming for too. We have Cornbinder, K-Whopper and Freightshaker dealers close by for various things, but just thought we'd ask what y'all have done. We'll probably keep duallies on the rear due to the weight we haul around with her. Uniseal gave us rolls of insulation...

Did y'all make one or buy one? My wife has the same complaint. Another idea we have is to reroute the exhaust to the rear of the 109 box we have as well. 'Storm will be primarily a highway truck anyway, so we're not concerned about off-road performance.
RDD;
I'd be more tempted in your case to buy the boss's truck especially if it's free. Second option would be to go straight to Uncle Sam via Government Liquidation. From there find a DRMO close to you to look at what's available and the condition it's in. If money isn't a problem, then check...

I'm planning on cheating once my tires wear out. I'm going with 10X20 intermodal tires because they're cheap to buy. I'll pick up a little speed but loose a little torque. In the long run (pun intended) I'll be better off.

I'm seeing the word OOPS being vibrated in my mind repeating over and over and....... I wonder why...........<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_wink.gif" alt="Wink"> I hope the damage isn't bad to the tire.

You have my sympathies! In my 1.5 million miles of driving/repairing diesels I've learned when you shake down a system rust and impurities let loose and can bring havoc to a new and beautiful reman or rebuild. It doesn't take much to put a pinhole in a piece of rubber or plastic and rain...

Storm struggles too. I figure with either a LDS engine or a 5.9L Cummins she'd do better. The trailer with everything inside (I'll have some inside pics of the modified shelter real soon too) weighs nearly 7,000 lbs.. It's like pulling a brick behind you. The weird thing is the...

Sounds to me like a tiny leak from the air side to the hydro side. It doesn't take much to happen either. Re-check the Master Cylinder to be sure no leak is there, but I'll bet it is.
Chris;
I'm a Lucas believer especially with the tranny. Just add a quart and what a difference it makes. Just keep in mind, however, it takes more time for the tranny to warm up because Lucas is so thick. The flip side is all the protection the internal parts get during and after driving.
Guys;
When in doubt let her idle....... As with any turbo diesel, if you are going to stop and get a sandwich and fries let her idle. It's inefficient to shut her down and less than 1/2 hour later fire her up again. You will burn more fuel and stress the turbo more too by doing that. It...
Everyone;
I love this pic! This was two weekends ago at the Vanderburgh County 4-H Center. We had a very good weekend. Believe it or not but the whole store fits in the truck and trailer. It takes my wife and I about 35 minutes to set up completely and 40 minutes to repack and go.
Thanks...

Finders keepers...<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_wink.gif" alt="Wink">. Problem is I haven't found yet <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_pissed.gif" alt="Pissed">!

Double clutching means you treat neutral like a seperate gear. Example:
From first you push the clutch in and shift to neutral, clutch out, clutch back in while in neutral, shift into second and clutch out. In other words, you do not clutch in and shift directly from first to second gear...
