    M1088a1 disconnect switch relay problem

There are 2 parts to the K11 circuit. DC voltage applied by K26 and a path to ground provided by the oil pressure switch. Do you have an oil pressure idiot light when you turn on the ignition switch? The same path to ground that allows K11 to energize is also provided to the oil light by the...

    LMTV Shocks Absorbers

I am thinking the air bags were more to compensate all the added weight to maintain ride height on his build… In the end Springs don't necessarily dampen motion energy, they store and release it and some energy is lost in the conversion and release.

New M-1083 owner. So, here we go!!

Yea, if I read that date code correctly, they were a year old in 2010… They are also AGM’s AGM batteries want 45% of the battery AH rating in amps from the alternator during the major portion of the charge cycle. Plain lead acids want only 25%. So with the 4 battery 240AH AGM bank that was...

Anyone have an issue with their Throttle Position Sensor

On an A0, Yes TPS issues will cause the trans to revert to min/max RPM gear shifting. Its easy enough to check with an ohm meter. It has 3 wires. The outer 2, pins A and C measure across the resistor and should read 9K-15KOhms. the center wire(pinB) varies resistance between either A or C and...

New M-1083 owner. So, here we go!!

Yes. voltages are referenced to ground so the battery attached to ground must be the lower potential/voltage battery.

New M-1083 owner. So, here we go!!

It doesn’t really matter, with the jumper, they are basically the same point electrically. I reused one of the original jumpers with a threaded stud on either end. Not sure exactly which end it is connected to right now:) Mine had 2 basket case batteries in it. Put in a pair of group 31’s to...

New M-1083 owner. So, here we go!!

The normal layout has ground furthest away from the frame, 12v in the middle and 24V closest to the frame. So you would keep one inner and one outer battery. a year old, they may be OK. Fully charge them and let them set overnight and compare voltages. You can also take them to a autoparts...

Yea don’t take anything for granted. I found brake shoes installed backwards…

New M-1083 owner. So, here we go!!

Runs long enough to get outta my sight, its good to go! One ground goes to the nato plug and the other ground goes to the instrument shunt below the polarity protection device. From the instrument shunt the ground lead continues on to the main ground terminal on the front of the starter...

New M-1083 owner. So, here we go!!

Unless you like to start like this:) 27F no preheat and my ether line was crimped in a bracket(I thought it was empty, it went clunk but no spray)… A 1500W block heater is nice, I put one in, Half hour or so of preheat and she starts way easier. But if you don’t have the energy source for...

    A0 Cab air bag system

On the back of the hydraulic valve assembly? Thats a vent, and if it is leaking air when the cab suspension air control is on, then you have a leak in that cab air control pushbutton valve. When you turn off the cab air, it closes off the supply air and vents the cab suspension side to...

New M-1083 owner. So, here we go!!

I have done afew vids on the lmtv here is a link to the fuel system overview vid. I have another on how to test the primer pump and a breakdown of the old style fan hub and a few others. The only difference between the old and new style fan clutch is the use of a rubber friction disc on the old...

    Mav’s M1088A1 Conversion

Also check the excavation and road constriction companies. Brought mine home(120 mi?) on a trailer behind a local owner/operator dump truck for not very much. Know someone else in my area that brought one home with a road construction company that had a truck coming up this way empty to pick...

    Yep, no K11, no start…

    M1088a1 disconnect switch relay problem

Yellow is low voltage. Green is normal and red is high voltage… time to break out the voltmeter…

    M1088a1 disconnect switch relay problem

What NDT said. The TCU powers K26 when in neutral. K26 powers K11 which provides the power to the starter switches… 15 PSI of oil pressure de-energizes K11 disabling the starter and putting the alternator online… so does taking the trans out of neutral…

    Fmtv transmission radiator fan running

Well if the fording sw controls them and the engine fan works normally when driving I suspect your aux fan control is working normally. If you are not doing any more work than a 4X4 could, then the thermal diverter really isn’t even sending any trans fluid to that cooler and all the heat is...

    Fmtv transmission radiator fan running

Or you could start the engine, get out of the truck and see if the aux fan is still on…:) Another way to test it is turn on the ignition, and when the aux fan starts up, turn on the fording switch and see if that stops it. The fording sw provides power to the aux fan relay and the engine fan...

    Fmtv transmission radiator fan running

So if your engine fan is not locked up when you turn on the ignition, then the aux fan relay or circuit may have an issue. Like the fan solenoid, de-energized = fan on. This on a 3126? If i recall correctly the ECU may engage it untill the engine starts... wull have to look that up...
