It makes little difference in a cucv(dual 12 volt alts) if your batteries match.
I would follow the diagnostics procedure in the -20 tm for no start. It covers the gp system very well.
You could have a fuel issue causing these hard starts too. Look for any wetness near the fuel filter.

I don't understand what you mean.
If you are experiencing a starter run-on, how could you forget to turn off the engine? What if it did not start?
Please explain what the switch could be used for?

Disconnecting the battery cable to the starter, will not always stop the starter from running on.(in post#89)

When members here were using it 8-10 years ago, it failed in one spot in the 2.5 ton transmission.
After a few of the failures were diagnosed, it became apparent that the oil was not working in one specific area.
That created a track record that I have not forgotten...
