Something else occurred me to. The current MN Military Vehicle laws state that if a vehicle has a civilian equivalent it can be registered. Otherwise they have a system where (former) MV are supposed to be owned by a non-profit with a special registration. I don't know anything about the M35...
Y plate is any vehicle that is 10k lbs or higher. They can be registered as non-commerical. Since a 5-ton is 10k lbs (I assume that is Max GVW?) then it would get a Y plate. (Ford F350, Chevvy 3500, etc all get Y plates for the same reason.)
As mentioned definitely check local ordinances...
just some sort of zinc coated steel from what I could tell. The issue is the rubber deforms over time and allows the pressure on both sides to get weaker until it either arcs (lots of amps due to the wiper motor) or simply disconnects. The wash bridges the gap, but in my case the rubber...
When I first had issues with the contacts on mine, the exact suggestion was adding washers like that. I did so and it worked for a bit, but soon I ended up having to replace both sides. Doing so, it's worked fine since.
As for the sand.. Time get a sandbox for the kids/kitties.. :)
Can confirm, my HMMWV had yellow fluid in it that was tested as DOT 5. Stuff I added when I bleed the system out was purple as well. Turned more 'maroon' in color one blead through the system. My take, only the color in a new un-opened bottle can be trusted.
I laughed out loud on that one. I enjoyed the show, but come on. Would have been better if they spent an hour unbolting the tire, separating the rim, and then removing the run flat, and THEN.... (no spoilers).
Is this the front of the truck? I've not done a pad swap there yet but I seem to remember that I did encounter something that looked it would be more difficult to get around. Sorry I can't be of better help there.
On the back it was just remove the fluid line, unbolt the calipers, and maybe...
I’ve seen that problem with outdoor PoE cameras. Plug them in, as the inside warms up the lense fogs up. Getting the moisture out was a pain! Involved warming the glass and finding a dehumidification box.
I paid about $250 _each_ for the ones on my rig. I would do it again.
I like the look, the connectors are correct.
Someone has previously put Jeep lights on my HMMWV, but in order for them to fit they had a connector adapter and had to bang a huge dent in part of the bucket. Two correct...
Stay away from ebay. Go to MacMotors or Kascar (Real4wd) and buy the glow plugs.
When you get them (from any supplier) verify the hex is _NOT_ 10mm, if it is, send them back, they're counterfit. Counterfits fail and cause damage to the glow controller and/or get stuck in the engine!
Once you...
Take a picture of the whole engine, especially the valve covers (if there are any stickers on them).
Based on the date I see, it looks to me like it's probably. 6.5L engine -- if it was replaced 11/20. But looking at the whole engine should make that clearer.
Opinions are go to vary. The Goodyear original tire warranty is 10 years for military tires. That is 10 years from manufacture.
IF the tires were stored properly, IF they are kept inflated enough, IF you don't drive it very much, and IF you are lucky, they'll last longer....
If you ask...
My understanding is early versions of the parts were contracted by AMG.. Then Moog made a better version, and AMG signed an exclusive contract with them as a supplier. Moog won't sell the parts directly, only through AMG due to this. (Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong!)
My housemate borrowed my HMMWV (with the stock military tires on it) last year in a snow storm. (She drove them in the Army, so it wasn't new to her.). With that said, with the stock tires.. she said she slide through one stop sign, and ended up doing a 180 through another.. thats when she...
I used to work in the automotive parts industry. There are a lot of misconcenptions into what the NHTSA recalls do. The main point is to alert people of a problem. The secondary point is to promote compliance to ensure we don't have bad parts in the parts supply.
So lets say this isn't a...
I'd recommend you file a report with the NHTSA with mentioning the seller of the part.
It very well could have been a "1 time" event, but it also could be the parts of just crap and NHTSA can force a recall. (Not so much for folks to get their money back, but be told to look for these parts...
