Back in high school I had a girl friend who's parents owned the True Value Hardware store in Pacific Grove. One day Her and her friend drove the True Value flatbed delivery truck out to my home in Carmel Valley. There were many a stop light in between those two points. That poor SM465 lol...
Today I went to the local Junk Yard and found the very elusive TV cable bracket. I found it in the very last vehicle that possibly could have had it! I also found a suburban that was 4 wheel drive 1/2 ton model that use to have a 700R4. Well the Trans, Tcase and steering column were missing...
Here is the speedo gears page. For the 700R4 you need a driven gear adaptor to match your tire size and gear ratios for a correct speedometer reading. This page has the chart needed for you to determine what driven gear adaptor you will need. For me I will need the #42 Driven Gear 90 degree...
Well that would be nice!
Just checked and you are right! Thanks for the heads up.
TH400: 24-3/8" Mount: 2-3/4" Total length: 27-1/8"
700R4: 23-3/8" Mount: 3-7/8". Total length: 27-1/4"
Height wise I'm not sure what the difference is but should be real close to what it was with the...
Im having them building the 700R4 using a "K" code 700R4 case. The "K" is embossed on the upper side or on the side (Passenger) of the Case. Ive seen them from 4" tall to about 6" or 7" tall. The "K" case was used on all of the K series trucks and K5 Blazers that came with a 700R4 from the...

Today I started the process getting all the parts I need to install a 700R4 into the Campulance.

1. 6.2 TV cable for 700R4 54" (new)
2. TV cable mount
3. Overdrive indicator for the 700R4
4. Flexplate for 6.2 diesel with 700R4 (Ordered from Rockauto use 1988...
Took the Campulance out for her maiden voyage Yesterday with the wife. Here is the thread:

Well you just doubled your mileage. Thats a pretty good start. I installed a second tank on my M1028. My plan was to wire in a switch to change my fuel gauge from one tank to the other. That way I didn't need to add a second fuel gauge. I had planned to use manual valves like you did. Mine...
NICE JOB! I'm really digging your extra fuel tank install. Thats on my list. First a 20 gallon side tank and a 50 gallon rear tank. 90 gallons total. Cant wait to see her done.
I fear the 1/4" Header flange is simply to thin. I suspect you will have warping and exhaust gas leaks. For me 3/8" would be minimum. Your build is amazing. Your work and attention to detail says allot. Thank you for this thread.
The quality of the ORD suspension components is excellent. This is my 3rd ORD Suspension install on Square bodies. Two of those have been on CUCVs. I suggest getting the Bilstein shocks and steering stabilizer. Far superior. Plus ORD have them valved for our application.
Please post pics...
The interior is pretty much all wrapped up. Like one of the stories from the American writer Horatio Alger. Rags to Riches. What a difference a little hard work can make. The dash came out excellent.
