    Ever hit a Sub-Compact?

Whatever it is, we in the fire service call it "job security". Keep up that sort of brilliant behavior and you will eventually end up in the back of my box.

What do I need to buy a deuce?

Patience. Getting parts isnt as easy as going to autozone. Alot of stuff can still be had, and easily, by some dealers found here on the site. But parts come by a fedex guy, not a counterperson. Upswing is that the truck is designed to be fixed with handtools and duct tape in the field a...

    Speedometer Rebuild/Repair

Might not be the speedo or the cable... Check out the module that inserts into the transmission. More than likely the nylon gear inside is shot. Try replacing or at least checking it out.

    Starter Support Bracket

Stang aint kidding. Drive it around for a week or 2 w/o that support and you will be drilling on the starter bolts with your set of easy outs, 6 mos tops. Ask me how I know...

    Vinyl Paint-what works

Was looking through some old threads and wanted to touch up my cargo cover on the deuce. Called GMA to see if they could sell me some dye or touch up and Emily said she would have to call me back to see if its available to the public. What-eva!

    M1009 VA Tow Bar Recovery

I dragged my blazer up I65 from Camp Shelby to bee-yoo-tee-full Hobart on a towbar my buddy and I made. No blazer issues, zip tied the drive shaft to the frame, and heard a buzzing for a couple of days after I got out of the truck. How do folks flat tow their jeeps behind their motorholmes w/o...

    $150,000 for a deuce?

Whats a used Bluebird Wunderlodge going for these days? So, you have a really nice deuce motorhome and you paid a ton to have it built. So do you go on ebay? Autotrader? Nahhh.... CL??!!? Because its a super way to get those hi dollar buyers...?

    Alternator Crashed

Just put one of Wolverine Tech's/Avenge USA's alts in this past weekend. Works well and wasnt too difficult to install, although included instructions with pics or diagrams in the proper sequence would have been welcomed. Other than that, the alt is functioning, warrantied, and cheaper to...

    Floor mat AND bedliner?

WHERE can I get those rubber floor pieces??!! I surely didnt notice them in my LMC catalog... I painted my floor with brush in heruliner, couple of gals of it just up infront of the rear seat to firewall and sprinkled kitty litter/oil dry for "grippage". Put several coats over the first coat...

    Finally happened to me-no brakes

I can hear the voice of Sherriff John Burnell now: "He was hopped up on a lethal concoction of methaamphetamine and antifreeze. Couple that with bad brakes and he was 7 tons rolling death..." lol

    rear tailgate window problems

Fellas, my clutch just died last night after putting my tools back in the blazer (was pulling a cucv front bumper/clevis tiedowns/push bar from the local boneyard- $30). This is the 2nd clutch in about 2yrs. There was no resistance in the felt gutters, its that lame ass cast aluminum clutch...

m1009 not starting when cold racking my brain trying to figure it out

I would bet youre getting power to only a few of the plugs. Confirm youre getting 12v to ALL plugs. Heavy white smoke and hard starting sound like unburned fuel; ie: plugs not getting hot enough. Starter working well? If its not getting enough juice to spin the motor fast enough it cant...

    I Got My M1009 Stuck

I bought the ol lady some new tires for her jeep about 6mos ago. I have some cupping on the rear tire. I will be speaking to the gurus at wallyworld asking for some pro rating/replacing real soon. My point is recaps, if done right, are probably as good as brand new tires. With proper...

    Post your cucv pics here

This is a pic out the front of my M1009 (remarkably, with HEAT now!) of State Park Rd at Kemil Beach, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. This was last night when Michigan City got 12-14" of snow yesterday. From this stop sign Lake Michigan is about 100yrds out. Im still a child. For some reason...
