Oooooo... daddy sees his new truck... This CUCV II isnt in a Tahoe or Blazer form is it? Not that momma would dig on driving a camo suburban but IF i could find a blazer to replace the one I got Id have to get one.
Advance auto wants 650 for a remanu TH400. If you replace it make sure to do the gasket between the trans and transf case, cheap insurance since its already out.
Mangus....? Hes a regular CUCV master and so is that CCatlett guy. They will tell you to clean and tighten all ground wires and make sure your positive treminals are tight as well. If nothing else its really cheap as opposed to the other ideas.
They sell the right size vac hose at the Zone. Cut a piece off and go in and get urself some. Also that plastic device that the hoses plug into can be adjusted to how soon you want the tranny to shift. Its toward the front of the motor and you have to loosen 2 bolts (believe its the vaccuum...
Dont sound good. Id watch ebay for a CUCV alt. Never hurts to have one on standby anyway.
I would however check all grounds and they would be tight and spotless. See if that doesnt correct the alt light from coming on.
Boys, if I had a shop and some time Id be all up in it. My god if it were just a few more months even with it warmer Id do it. This is the daily drivertho, and with it being the main form of transport I need it up and running asap.
So I towed it with the Queen to the shop which is kind of...
Cold weather and age have conspired to put me afoot in this miserable weather. The CUCV that I love is now immobile. I have a fella about a mile away who owns a shop says he will rebuild my own with a torque converter for a mere $875. How can I say no....
So I went to fire up the M35 to go tow...
it was -6 (not wind chill, ambient air)out today here near Chicago. My truck is plugged in but it did fire up. Held the GPs down a minute prior to starting.
Tranny wouldnt move the truck though. Im guessing the stuff is just too cold. Plenty of fluid.
I get the WIF light intermittantly when I hit a bump. This is after I changed the filter last week. Wait light does it as well for some damn reason. GPcontroller card is bypassed in favor of a manual button. Any thoughts?
I was under the impression that the 12/24 starter conversion was made, though I wouldnt wanna bet my life on it. However while the general story is long winded Im under the impression it is spot on as to the poster's problem. His starter is taking a dump, gonna need another, could convert to 12v...
I spoke to a chevy mechanic at a large dealership today about this very problem.
I go through starters about every 6 months or so. They are autozone cheapies with lifetime warranties so I aint too worried about it. When I first got the truck the (flywheel or flexplate) had a triangular...
Im guessing had the professor rolled in here and had been the top banana of a larger motor pool repair depot some of you guys wouldnt know it and still bust his chops. That private/colonel/general designation by your name is a load anyway. I could post nothing but crap in the conversations forum...
Actually got my winch to work today. While I, gentlemen, may have read the manual on its proper operation it would seem that the clutch lever has not. Sometimes it engages and othertimes it just dont wanna move until you hand wind it and then the gears mesh. But it is cool to hear it...
Dabtl... after reviewing the pics from now and october I noticed you 'bypassed or 'teed' you line. Im assuming ofcourse. Whats was the reason or why didya do it? Just curious.
Im guessing thats a Q-siren...
Would like to see an old vid of that thing 'doin it' on a tarmack. Dont think Id wanna get out to deploy the boom. From the stance it looks like theres no weight on the front axle though.
Kids these days... you try to raise them up right... that damn "yeah, yeah, yeah" music they listen to and MTV...
Young squire, the army balzers and pick ups are decent trucks. While some may try to poo poo on your attempt to owning one I'd say go for it. If the old man will spring for the...
Youre right, its your rig. Neon lights here and some spinning rims rolling on dem twin-twin-twenties and you will be the king of the ghetto and trailer park.:-D Loud system blaring Clint Black or Dem Franchise Boys and ur set. Just dont play the wrong tunes in the wrong place...
