Stop by a local truck stop and have a mechanic take a look. They usually have an assortment of springs that may work. Older mechanics dig our trucks and the spring cant be too much. Good luck
In my searching Ive seen a few pics of the twist locks that holds the vinyl cargo cover down but they surely arent drilled into the side of the bed. Let me run a scenario by you guys:
I have a 1008 with a behind-the-cab tool box. I dont believe I can use the troop seats AND the tool box so Id...
Id look at each GP and make sure theyre working. After that make sure all connections are clean between the GP and the connector, not rusty and corroded. If need be replace the wires from your relay with a heavier gauge to lower the resistance.
Return line is clogged with debris on top of the IP. Pull it off and check to see if you can look through the glass ball. If its dirty clean it with carb spray with the red straw... and get ready for an IP rebuild.
Clean ones Ive seen here in NW Indiana/ Chicagoland??? They were in an Auto trader on a car lot. 6 or 7 in the past few weeks. Theyve been advertised on Craigslst, some 1008's with camper caps in different paint scemes and some blazers.
Ida and Bjorn... thank you.
How timely I caught Bjorns article in MilVehs Magazine! A good read for those of you who havent caught it yet.
After a closer inspection it appears the relay wires were spliced intoto add something which was cut away at some point. Anyway one of the spliced wires...
The first 4 vehicles I owned were all manual shifts and I learned to speed shift early. I noticed after awhile my jeep would grind between 3-4. Turns out the AX5 synchros arent very stout nor do they take very well to clutchless shifting. Ended up replacing all synchros in the gear box. That...
I didn't realize the ign switch went to a relay. I noticed there appears to be a wire that has pulled out of a crimped connector near the starter. Doesn't appear to have burned but I will check it after work tomorrow on saturday. Thanks for the diagram fellas.
Went to start the truck yesterday and in the middle of cranking it cut out like I flipped the ignition switch off. Now, the truck has no electrical power at all, like a fuse is blown. Batteries are tight, no obvious pops, burning smell, magic smoke, or wires hanging loose.
At the same time I...
Busting the ball makes the truck harder to start if theres an air leak (IIRC) between the IP and the fuel filter.
If youre cleaning it out every few weeks start looking for a reputable rebuild shop. Do a search on the topic, its covered extensively.
Waste oil w/o proper filtration will kill an ip faster than you can say "shallow grave"...
I would take a strong look at that lift pump and the hoses/connections between the fuel tank and the ip. Good hoses with no cracks and good connections wont allow air into the system.
Unless the...
I have a KLT250, working with racks. Dont believe its mil but its pretty cool. Not sure why they werent more popular than hondas...
The hub on the left side "locks out" by turning a dial, just like a jeep, so you could turn off the posi rear giving it one wheel peel. Great for not wearing out...
Have to get from Chevy. Parts guy can get them from another dealer, theyre still quite available and can be had off ebay.
Order 6 and leave them in the glove box. 2 is never enough.
My earlier comments were rather frosty and hasty and I apologize.
There have been several quakes in the area since the initial, Dom Republic and a few other countries have felt trimmers for several days now. Im not sure that area is done yet. The workers in that area may be in the catbirds...
