HC, are those 365's on deuce rims with flipped hubs? Could you please take a photo that clearly demonstrates the rear tires are under the bed?
I wanna run that set up and I cannot have the tires protrude out from the bed. Where I live it's a big no-no.
Thanks,
Rick
Yep, each time we get away with it, we become more emboldened. When I copped a shard, it went into my elbow from the inside of the joint. The doc mentioned all the things he had to dodge, tendon, veins and a nerve, as he rooted it out.
I have owned three different weight brass hammers for...
On my civvy truck I chose jack mounting studs that were the same diameter and pitch as the axle lug nuts. The idea is to have matching hardware for using your lug wrench to mount/dismount the jack AND you can also secure the jack and tires with a set locking lug nuts.

My opinion: Generally, military trucks are under powered, and under geared for large distance explorations. The main reason many of us collect and modify OD trucks is the low entry cost, compared to an equivalent OTR truck.
Also, MV's are usually less comfortable to operate and require more...
If your axles have bearings, seals and brake parts available, why mess with them? They are fitted to the truck's suspension, they have good load carrying capacity, they are geared correctly..... why sell them and throw that all that goodness away?
Besides the effort and expense for...
Have you considered utilizing a universal engine control, such as:

Besides the CPU, you need a few sensors, which the engine probably already...
From the first post, it appears he (Steve) has created a tool that he uses to measure the assembled clearance, using a feeler gauge! It looks very straight forward to me and I appreciate the ingenuity vs spending $1500 for a tool that has a single purpose!
I'll bet that tool will have...
I don't believe that using a Torx tool as an extractor is going to work as well as an actual extractor. The Torx tool is hardened, but the six "teeth" of the tool are rounded, and won't bite into the plug material as well as an extractor.

X2 ... fighting the slippery parts install under a big truck is no fun. Make the surfaces clean and dry and the sealing task will work like a charm.

I don't recall ever opening a gauge that had the lens fitted with a sealing gasket, so re-crimping it will make it as water tight as it was before. If you do find one or more gauges that are sealed, then you will wish to improvise a new gasket if the old one is not reusable.
A few notes about...
The above recommendations work for light blemishes. It is possible to restore glass using the same technique in restoring body paint: successive stage sanding.
I have had success in removing the gauge glass and sanding them on a very flat surface, first with wet/dry 600, followed by crocus...
That's been my experience operating the gasser 404 and the diesel 416. Both are (were) ex military cargo trucks, available at auction, much like the M35 also used to be. Both of the Unimogs are excellent cargo carriers over rough terrain, besting any vehicle in it's weight class. I have crossed...
