Just did my rears and if your lucky like I was and they are the slotted ones and not the plates you just can just loosen the bolts and slide them out. I just had one per bucket.
If you are asking me, not having gotten into a geared hub before and this being a first for me, the answer is no, but I think it's a good idea and will plan to do it on mine when I finish up, thanx.
I’m looking for some guidance/advice on how to deal with a couple of issues I have come up against while going through my geared hub. This is the first time I have gotten into a geared hub, so I'm still in the learning phase.
Issue 1: On the drive gear shims between the retainer and hub...
Thanx Chris,
Your site and PRC68.com have been my "go to first" sites for problems and research.
If your page had the answer, I missed it. I went back to the manual and still couldn't find and mention of how the frequency displays (lacking the first #) on the high band when entering. I have...
okto, Roger that. Had another individual on the G give me the same info a while back. Searched the manuals again and still couldn't find anywhere in them with that piece of info. you'd think it would be a important to point out.
Thanx

Finished the turret and swing arm mount install. Austin(beltfed), your old turret is finally in it's new home. Had to do it Augi style, haven't been able to source a hardtop yet.
Got to play with the truck this last weekend. Provided communication support for an endurance run through the mountains here in NE Utah. Found an alternative use for the UPA support.

I know this is an old thread but I see you are still out there on other posts. I have a PRC-128, but it has issues, I think. I has a high band RF/IF module but the radio only allows me to enter low band frequencies. From what I have read in the manuals the radio should automatically...
My motor doesn't move, but it use to, until I realize the mounting bolts were just slightly loose. Just a thought, not trying to be a smart aZZ.
I've been trying to find a mounting cup for my tach and have not been able to find one deep enough to hold it. Where did you find yours?
Thanx Lionel and Greg.
The pictures helped
One thing that I also found out is I had the part #'s wrong. Supplemental are 5595393 and 12339631-2 and basic are 12339623-1 and -3. That little revelation helped clear up some confusion.
So if I understand correctly the main feature to look for...
Can anyone describe/show the visual difference between a HMMWV basic and supplemental armor (M1025/26) hardtops?
From the manual the part numbers for a basic are 12339623-1 and 12339631-2 and supplemental 5595393 and 12339623-3. But there is no description, so when I'm looking at pictures...
