I will check it out again tomorrow. I just remember it was hard try to feel the difference of the freeplay with the springs attached and knowing physically where the freeplay engaged without the rest of the assembly attached.
How far can you depress the clutch pedal before the slack gets taken up? It's hard to tell, with the clutch return springs attached. so I disconnected it and measured it as described in the TM. I had about 3/4" (i dont remember exactly) at the lever near the bell housing. how much that would...
I am still a noob and i am also trying to learn about the fording kits. can we get some pics up (central vent kit, where the air is supposed to enter the bell housing, Etc...) It would help me a lot. I am still a long way from getting the beast wet but I should learn a head of time what i'm doing.
i put some miles on it today. she was still slipping but not as bad as the other day. I think i am going to get lucky on this one. i just cant really bury my foot into it or it will slip right away. But it is much better.:):mrgreen:
That is verry similar to how my my of the shelf rotary phase converter works. It was a bit complicated for me so my buddie had to wire it..
it didnt make sense to me. 220 in to it to spin the motor and the motor created the 3rd pole that came out. the machine always has 220 going to it, but...
Hey gimp,
Congtrats on the mill. These guys are 100% correct that you can build a 3phase converter from a old 3 phase motor. Basically you take a 110 motor and run a belt to turn the 3phase motor. The wires connecter coming out the 3 phase motor is now a 3 phase generator. If the mill motor...
So today i removed the lower clevis pin (btw it was a detent type push pin not a bolt :)).
As it turns out I do have some freeplay (thats good) However the dimension measured 3 1/8".
The manual says approximately 3 1/4". I would think that 1/8" would be close enough. I just think the...
Since i am getting a clutch education, does anybody have the "specs" of the clutch?
I am not trying to redesign it, just trying to find out if Napa or similar may have one. Even if the price is way hi, at least i could research easier thru commercial truck parts stores with a napa # to...
I actually just reread the post with the numbers. I will hunt around. I thought that speedie sleeve was a nice baillout if needed.
you all have sent me in the right direction... I'll let you know what i'll find.
I thought i read in a different post that a clutch kit was in the 3-4 hundred range. That's excellent news :jumpin:.
I was just about to ask you (from your thread) that you found some common part numbers??? and what were they?
If the flywheel and pressure plate arnt smooth, how much does...
there was absolutely NO free play. Tomorrow I will remove the rod with clevis that attaches to "hole 16" and try to adjust it to have some free play as described.
I have no way of knowing if it was readjusted due to wear or not till i have a baseline with free play to try driving it from. If i...
Ok so i went back out there and I tried to move the lever to check for freeplay. I FOUND SOME INTERESTING THINGS...
I couldn't move it by hand from under the truck.
The only way I could actuate the linkage to measure anything I had to reach outside the frame rail and grab the lever just...
I know they must add a tremendous amount of extra wear but ohh well... It's the closest think you can drive on the road to driving a full blown monster truck. :)
i have a few quick questions about the adjustment. I just took a quick peek under there after reading thru the TM about it. I am just...
