    Second Bi-Annual TX MV Rally

I broke a tooth in half. I do not think I could have a good time, and can not be seen by a dentist on such short notice. I do not know what might help, maybe hitting my hand repeatedly with a ball peen hammer would distract me from the tooth. I can't believe in dallas Texas I can not find a...

    M818 Transfer Case Upgrade T-138 to T-1138

I got the case off ebay for $1850 which I think is a fair price. In the end it was $340 freight from Florida to Texas and I am told that was cheap for a 500+ lb pallet shipped on demand. The case had been on ebay for a while, and also listed in the past without being sold. The seller told me the...

    M818 Transfer Case Upgrade T-138 to T-1138

This thread will discuss modifying an M818 by the removal of a stock Rockwell T-138 T-case and installation of a Rockwell T-1138 T-case normally used in the M939 type truck. The reason for this is to gain a bit lower RPM on the highway and run 60MPH instead of 50MPH. T-138: High: 1:1 ? Low: ...

    POLL: Are YOU a VOTER ? ? ?

Video games? huh. We got these large pieces of paper and a inkpen you fill in the circle next to the name you want and then you slide it into the machine/ballot box and the built-in computer counts it as it goes in past the sensors. I like that because (unless you just fill in the single dot for...

    Second Bi-Annual TX MV Rally

So 5-6PM Friday? Do we have LZ markers and someone to control the landing? We ought to check the LZ for foreign objects, not so much because they could be sucked in, but they could be blown by the rotor blast. Last time I experienced rotary wing landing, I got a face full of pebbles and dirt...

    M35a3 RPM Question

It is a Cat 3116. You better check carefully or it will go boom. The internet says 2500-2800 but don't take my word for it. Find the TM and read it, go only by what that says.

    Second Bi-Annual TX MV Rally

When can people actually arrive? That will determine travel plans. SGT Slaughter wants to camp in a hotel !?!?!!! so we might drive down Friday evening and find lodging. Chris, I am coming from Dallas via pickup truck. If the timing's right I could follow a convoy which might be fun but the...

Deuce radio antenna, 5 ton style

I think they are OK now. As for the mounts on the side of the bed, it's fine if the bows and anything else there is non-metallic. If the intention is to use the antenna, best performance keeps the element away from metal.

DMV says I need a smog check

I realize California has smog issues, and is very strict on some kinds of pollution, and the local customs are a bit different than here in Texas. However, the very mention of the government demanding a smog check on an old truck in California, in the timely context of the last baseball game...

    Fender-mounted heater THAT pathetic?

A word about breakers - if you are adding them, try to use DC-rated magnetic trip breakers, not the thermal auto-reset types. The magnetic ones are faster, more durable, do not change trip amps after x amount of trips, not made in China, and can also be used as switches. I used over 20 of them...

Whats this Deuce Worth 6cyl turbo diesel

may need tires. $500-1500 depending how it runs, but it is stripped out and rusted, so the best bet would be to convert it to a useful work utility vehicle.

5 Ton transmission 3rd gear problem

The rating for gearbox lube without the destructive additives is MT-1. Do not use anything that says EP extreme pressure additive. Use a lube with MT-1 on the can, or, go with what Spicer said. Or the TM. gee whiz it is confusing. I put 80-90 MT-1 in my deuce, no issues for 17K miles and then I...

Buc-ee's. A good name so kids can whine, "We want to stop at Buc-EEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!" I like the place, lots of goodies and food. The name was a stroke of genius. I'll be there, via pickup. The 5T is not licensed or ready.
