    MEP-831A No Inverter Output

Ok, there are fuses inside the Frequency Converter. The fuses look like little black resistors they are numbered F1-F4, you may have to scrape through some coating to get a resistance reading. Try testing those fuses, then we'll go from there. A replacement Frequency Converter would probably...

    MEP-531a

INITIAL ADJUSTMENTS, BEFORE USE AND SELF-TESTThe diesel engine must be broken in, avoiding heavy loads (no greater than 75%), for a period of at least twenty(20) hours to ensure proper operation of the generator set. After the initial break-in period, intake and exhaustvalve clearances must be...

    My second MEP-831A

The cutting boards measured .030" I tried them, way too think to even let the rotor fit in stator. I took the screw our of my both of my feeler gauges to used them as a space on the side that was too close before. If i hit the rotor with a rubber mallet it will seat its self, once i try to...

Replace the oil seal, I was missing the head washers that go under the rocker cover. Had some washer on hand the were a little to wide, so I swapped out the ones that are not under cover. Also replace the flywheel cover vibration absorbers they turned into old bubble gum. Also replaced the seal...

What about a exhaust flapper? Cant live in west Texas and not have one, I think its a rule here. I'm just joking, thanks for the info Dewie. Also changed the oil at 10hr mark of breaking in sine honing the engine. About 10hrs more to go then back to the regular scheduled LO.

    Finally bought a MEP-831a

I did think about it before, decided to wait until the unit runs like it should. It would need a flexible pipe after the 90 degree turn to isolate vibrations from the engine. One of those mesh ones probably, as for the muffler its self I have no idea what on to get. Never have done anything like...

    Finally bought a MEP-831a

Figured out what was making that noise, the rotor was rubbing on the stator, tried to insert a .010 gauge no good one that side. other side has a really big gap. I noticed that when I first tore apart the set. I removed and reinstalled the rotor and now the .010 gauge can fit. From TM Using a...

    MEP-531a

Adjusted set as close as I could to the upper limit of 63Hz, been running my desktop and window AC on it hangs around 50%. The UPS on my computer does kick in when the AC compressor kicks in. Might help if I used a heavier extension cord using a 50 foot 14 AWG cord. I do see a decent voltage...

    Finally bought a MEP-831a

Installed Kloppk's controller that he made to replace the SLC100. The controller is well worth the money bought two of them. Runs happy now, beside that noise I need to hunt down. I'm fairly sure it's the mufflers back plate came loose again doesn't make that noise till the set is warm. Kinda...
