What part of Missouri are you in? For just a little extra money you can get some Goodyear G177 radial tires. If you're close to Kansas City, T&E tire on Stilwell will work on the split locking ring rims.
Welcome from Kansas City, MO. Be sure to search for the thread on the KAMO Rally this fall at the D-Day Adventure Park. It's a fun weekend and a great time to put your truck through its paces.
Does your 5 ton have a flame heater for the intake manifold? Several of us had to unhook the fuel lines from ours because even though it goes to the intake, if it leaks it will somehow get the fuel into the crank case.
Congrats on the deuce. You might consider getting type 31MHD batteries with the screw posts. The post and terminals on a deuce can be a source of hassle if corrosion starts between the post and terminal. Just remove the terminals and the battery cable connections slide right over the screw posts...
I have Gillespie on my deuce and it's tough stuff. Branches will barely scratch the surface of it. I give it a little touch up with a spray can and it's as good as new.
