It took me about four or five hours also. Just be patient and take the time to clean and relube everything. Replace the gaskets and inspect all parts for damage and excessive wear.

I've seen some on EBay. I know they are for sling loading equipment from helicopters. I'm not sure how they would behave if used as a tow strap.

You're talking about the gun ring leg mount. I've never looked to see if it could be mounted on the driver's side. The mount is on the passenger side because the M-66 gun ring hangs over the passenger side of the cab. That's why the back of the passenger seat is diamond plate. So the gunner can...

My M35A2 has CARC in it. I think for most vehicles they painted as many painted surfaces as possible with CARC to help with decontamination.

If you switch fluid, use alcohol to flush the old fluid out. Then put the new fluid in and bleed the system well to get all of the alcohol out.
