EESS PCB replacement for the HMMWV ?

You're good on your PCB and GPC if your starter solenoid is clicking, so you have other problems. This is probably a stupid question, but are you sure you've hooked your batteries up in series, and that those batteries are charged? Sounds like it's trying to run on 12V instead of 24. There...

    Bad PCB?

There is supposed to be what's called an 'afterglow' period once the HMMWV is started (CUCV family does it too) which is perfectly normal. Depending on the generation of PCB/ EESS/ S3 you have installed, that afterglow period is done in different ways - though all result in the glowplugs being...

    PRC77 carrier squelch conversion question

I'm also pretty sure they only work on the PRC-25s and won't on the 77s. I have one here I remember trying on a 77 and not having any luck, but it's an experiment I should repeat at some point in the near future.

    Mt-297/gr

Fair Radio had them, and so does this guy: http://www.cckw.org/radio.htm - though the post is a couple of years old.

    Problem connecting RT-524 to VIC-1

Yes, but don't change the orientation too dramatically or you'll stress/ break the wires. The power cables are far more resilient to stress than the intercom interconnects. I've had a number of them that had broken wires due to their being torqued too far.

    LMTV Transmission won't engage

Excuse me if it's overly obvious, but make sure your hand throttle on the dash is down to its lowest position. Sounds dumb, but one of the guys at work wondered why he had to ride the brake and...well...yeah.

    LMTV Transmission won't engage

One of the keys might be stuck 'on'. I had one of those on a bus transmission do that. Try press all the keys pretty vigourously, cycle power, and see if it clears.

LMTV Transmission Selector/ Control - no display

Yup. I used to work on water damaged electronics all the time into the SMT world, but once they went to multilayer boards when you don't have a circuit diagram to help you out - success rates dropped considerably :) Fortunately for others who may run into this problem with the FMTV earlier...

    Radio Equipment in M925

One thing I found cool about the whole Tactical Internet (TI) angle is that in FBCB2-EPLRS (uses a spread-spectrum terrestrial UHF transceiver for data relay vs. the Comtech SATCOM transceiver of BFT) - the network is 'self-healing'; that is, each EPLRS equipped station is also a network node...

    Radio Equipment in M925

I think that variation is actually for MTS, which is sort of...Blue Force Tracker lite...as far as I can tell. MTS = Movement Tracking System. The antenna/transceivers (mount on the roof) look almost identical to the ones for BFT (sort of a tan box with one or two Cannon/ Bendix type...

Norwegian Army: what vehicles in '74-75?

    Hmm. That's great. Thanks. Wow...CCKWs still in 1980. That's crazy. :)

Norwegian Army: what vehicles in '74-75?

Hopefully someone knows, but what 1/4 ton - 1/2 ton vehicles and what 2-1/2 ton - 5-ton vehicles were in use by the Norwegian Army around 1974-1975? Were they painted that odd angular splinter cam - or just some form of OD green? I've seen some pics of hardtop Land Rover Series III 109s in...

Any leads on a complete Stencil kit?

Rick Larsen www.militarystencils.com seems to be able to do just about anything.

LMTV Transmission Selector/ Control - no display

Yeah. A moment of silence for my TEPSS. And maybe some bagpipes playing. It's parted the curtain and joined the choir invisible. RIP. A bit amazing I was able to drive this *any* distance, as those circuit boards were in the hot tub a very long time, and I guess the problem only came to...

LMTV Transmission Selector/ Control - no display

When you run "WTEC II" that's one of the shifter formats that comes up - seemingly attached to the same type ECU box. Be fun if they were interchangeable.

LMTV Transmission Selector/ Control - no display

Sooo...pulled the keypad/ computer and...the problem must've been it was low on water aua Yeah, water pooled at the lower connector and there was also some sloshing in the ECU itself, so...that could be better. Not having a lid on the roof for x-years in Ft. Campbell obviously didn't do it any...

    FMTV Front Brakes

Well, by fluke the missing plungers were available on Ebay when I had a quick look, so I bought a pair. The Stopmaster brakes are used on a few things - old Euclid trucks, for one - which is what came up in my cross-reference first. Usually if you find the parts required/ missing in the 24P or...

    HMMWV impounded

Awesome. And great that the CHP had a grounded response and didn't jump to conclusions before looking into things. So far GovPlanet's been pretty good in all of my dealings with them - and responsive. The only hangup, as others have mentioned, is the sales tax thing, but that's a subject for a...

Where To Spray Ether In The Motor To Get It Started

If you absolutely, absolutely, absolutely have to...disconnect the glow plugs by pulling each orange boot off the glow plug itself (obviously you're doing that 8 times), as unless you know the various types of EESS/ PCB glow plug systems, that's the only way to be sure you have no glow plug...

LMTV Transmission Selector/ Control - no display

Cool. I'll go have a look next week. One problem is that this was a gun truck and had the roof open to the elements for a very long time *and* the cover off of the relay/fuse panel, so I expect to have a lot of electrical...fun...with the thing. Fortunately my voltmeter and I are like an old...
