It's starting get daylight and I'm sitting here with my dogs, having a cup of joe to get the day started. As soon as the Monday morning Atlanta traffic clears up, we're on the way! My planned stop-over at Conyers didn't work out, so we should be there by 1300. Getting excited now. I'm ready to...
The clock is down to 39 hours for me. The truck is loaded and serviced. All I need to do now is load up the firewood, dump some ice in the cooler and go. My target departure time is 1000 Monday morning and an arrival at 1400, including a brief stop in Conyers to meet up with friend.
Robo, come on as soon as you can. Just get here. I'll be there by 2:00 Monday afternoon. Ron, John, the Morgans, and a few others will be there. You won't regret a moment of it. The weather is great and the company is even better.
I have a bit over 60 hours left to go before I depart for D'Town. If I didn't have a few things to do around the house here this weekend, I'd be on the way now.
I got home today about 1500 after working around the clock from yesterday, and it was too early to go to bed. I'd be up again in the middle of the night if I did that. So, I started stripping the old paint off of the front axle. I figure I can finish cleaning it up and then repaint it on...
Everything is coming together at work. I'm taking the while week off and I think I've got everything covered. I hope. I plan to arrive at D'Town about 1:00 or 2:00 on Monday. And I'm not leaving until Sunday afternoon.
My countdown timer says:
SSGR14 - is coming in 5 Days, 14 Hours, 59...
I finally got brave enough to try a bit of stenciling. I have the stencil kit for the deuce, so I plan to redo all of the usual stenciled markings on the truck. I thought I would start with putting my forum ID on the bumper.
Yeah, I'm not even going to that neighborhood. If there are any of those "signs" within 5 miles of a hotel, I'm not staying there. Another bad sign is any bar with the word "Blue" in it, next door or nearby. Blue Lagoon, Blue Rodeo, Blue Monkey.....any of those are bad news. That's experience...
For me it's 23 Days, 12 Hours, 4 Minutes, 49 Seconds!
I've got truck and gear ready to go; Time off is approved and boy am I ready for it; Weather is cooling down; price of diesel is down and I wish I could leave tomorrow.
I got tired of the cab and cargo tops sagging and holding puddles of rain water, mixed with leaves and bird poop, and whatever else that goo consist of, so I fixed it. I don't know why I didn't do this a couple of years ago.
I just used some 5/4 planks and secured them with lacing twine.
No worries. I backed up and saw you had it on a trailer. Remember that you have to turn on your brake lights though. It's easy to forget and drive drive around with no brake lights. It takes a while to get in the habit of going the pre-trip and post-trip routines.
Oh, and don't just leave the...
Glad you made home safe. If you haven't figured out the 3-way switch, then you drove all that way with no brake lights or turn signals. Top center lever one click to the right for brake lights and turn signals; two clicks to the right for head and tail lights.
The lever on the lower right side...
I'm working 16-18 hours a day and worn out, but I just had to take a few minutes and put the spin-on kit on. It looks great. Instant oil pressure is nice.
The spin-on oil filter kit arrived today. I can hardly wait to get out there to install them. I'll have a couple of brand new canister filters available if anyone needs them.
