    Radio Shelf

There's a left side and a right side one, but most Blazers just seem to have had the right side (pass. side) one. All the ones I've ever found of that side came out of wrecks, though I've seen some NOS left-side ones around. Can't help with the p/n, though they show up on Epay from time to time.

    PLGR on Ebay Canada ( AN/PSN-11 )

He should go back for more then, because that one fetched $2650 on Ebay. Check it out -- PVS PLGR PEQ MILITARY GPS NAVIGATION SATELLITE SIGNALS - eBay (item 110499002335 end time Mar-05-10 15:50:28 PST) They only cost Gov agencies $2250 through GSA when new. Craziness. Papakb is right...

    PLGR on Ebay Canada ( AN/PSN-11 )

Kind of closing the gate after the horse has bolted though as tons of PLGR and PLGR II have been sold already - even through GL and GSA - and some even from China. I can think of four PLGR auctions over the last year-plus...no CID interest...or they just don't keep regular tabs on the E-place...

    M1009 antenna

MX-6707 Antenna Matching Unit (AMU) usually, which with the whips previously mentioned makes up AS-1729. Lots on Ebay regularly - some new. You can also use AS-3900/ AS-3900A which is the ant. system for the SINCGARS radios - all bolt in the same hole. Other antenna systems were used...

    PLGR on Ebay Canada ( AN/PSN-11 )

PVS AN/PSN-1 MILITARY GPS NAVIGATION SATELLITE SIGNALS - eBay (item 110499002335 end time Mar-05-10 15:50:28 PST) He has a bunch of kit listed you don't normally see come up, and this is the first PLGR I've seen show up in Canada. Check out his other listings too. When I've seen this come up...

    Antenna ID

AS-3588/GRC, I think, which as has previously been mentioned goes with the AN/GRC-206 FAC setup. Been looking for one forever, so if anyone has a spare or anything else radio-related for the GRC-206 - lemme know!

    New Guy Radio question

Here on Steelsoldiers in the Files section and elsewhere, I think, are the installation instructions for the VRC-12 series radios in the CUCV family vehicles, so it would be good to start there. Take note of all the cables, mounts etc. you need and start shopping. Steve Haney, Fair Radio, Mike...

    glow plug card repair

You can still buy them from the Chevy dealer if you want. I had a couple that malfunctioned because the capacitors near the leading-edge of the card (nearest the end you have to grab to pull out of the card socket) had cold solder joints (poor connections) that needed to be resoldered. Failing...

    Which radio for the HMMWV?

They're cool. One guy in Israel had a number of the sleds for sale for what I thought was a decent price awhile ago, though the bits and pieces that go with the system and the MBITRs themselves...good luck. The Chinese folks are on their MBITR Copy MKII at the moment, according to airsofting...

RT524 and R422 Parts Needed Which Ones??

Yup - I missed that - it is indeed missing. Sometimes they show up on Ebay, but Steve Haney should have them, and failing that try American Milspec (www.american-milspec.com) or Mike Murphy (www.murphyjunk.com) They install fairly easily from what I remember. Just set the radio for the lowest...

    Which radio for the HMMWV?

Paul Keys sells mainly to friendly foreign nations using a pricing formula that's sort of x-% of the original Magnavox sales price to the Government rather than what the collector market can typically bear, but Columbia's a business rather than our favourite vendor at the Hamfest and prices...

    Which radio for the HMMWV?

On Ebay? I've seen four in the last 12 mos., some from CONUS - others from China - some from UK (PLGR IIs in that case.) One vendor from China told me he gets them all the time. His last one in November went for a Buy-it-Now price of $150.00 (a bunch went over to China as electronic scrap in...

RT524 and R422 Parts Needed Which Ones??

Steve Haney's a great guy to deal with and I've also bought bits and pieces from American Milspec in the past with no problems (www.american-milspec.com) Mike Murphy is good too (www.murphyjunk.com) That RT-524 looks pretty much complete. Demil procedures varied, but the last bunch sold in...

    Which radio for the HMMWV?

FBCB2 or the military GPS units? FBCB2 components show up (mostly screen and CPU mounts - HMMWV system mounts and some miscellaneous cabling including the SIAD and other bits'n'pieces) but so far I've not seen any generation of display or CPU come up. There have been a few of both types of...

    Which radio for the HMMWV?

Hi. www.murphyjunk.com He has the both the later SINCGARS RT-1523B model and the earlier RT-1439 model right now which I'm pretty sure are ex-USMC. The RT-1523s have been demilled by removal of the crypto card but that doesn't affect basic operation at all on that version (or the RT-1523...

    Looking for RT-524

Just adding my voice to the choir, but I've heard nothing but good things about Pvt Jarhead - his stuff looks great - and his prices are really good.

    Yaesu FRG-7 Used Mobile?

Yes, it has the 12V jack, but you can also picture the Yaesu glossy brochure from 1977 showing a guy on top of a mountain staring out at the sunset with the Yaesu sitting on the hood of his brand-new Dodge Ramcharger hooked up to the cigarette lighter. ;-) A lot of Radio Shack stuff had 12V...

    Which radio for the HMMWV?

I'm gathering one or two replies to this thread were deleted (given my mailbox says x-replies should be here...but aren't), presumably for OPSEC reasons, but...there's nothing special about the computer itself...it's just a ruggedized PC which for the most part is about a generation or so behind...

    Yaesu FRG-7 Used Mobile?

I liked mine when I had one but wouldn't think of hard-mounting it in my M1009 even if I'd wrapped it in a few feet of cotton wool much less a mil-style shock mount. The original designers pictured you spending your money on a nice receiver with nice styling that would easily withstand the...

    CX-10613/G cable needed

And as was said earlier, chances are the power plug/cable for the AN/GRC-106 radio setup will work if you can't find the original cable. Usually a bunch on E-Pay.
