AN/UYK-128
I think the first ones were made by Litton (don't quote me on that) whereas the current order seems to be out of DRS Technologies. They're used in a few different applications according to what I've read on the web.
Won't be a CUCV, as they didn't make them in 1975. What you have is a genuine Canadian Army "Five-Quad" with a gas 350, THM350 transmission, NP203 or NP205 transfer case, can't remember what axles, and a really tough frame. Most of the ones I've seen are 1976 model years (guy just down from me...
From the current 'Starter Relay' thread:
"Facts thread
I would rate this as the third most common problem, but probably the most expensive one if you don't know what to do when it happens.
CUCVs have an extra starter relay under the dash. It is known to either rust and not work making the...
Could be anything. The silver can between the two black Bosch relays is the starter relay, and if you pull that one out (the relay socket looks like a Christian cross when you're staring at it) you can jump across the contacts with a suitable guage of wire and see if the starter engages then...
I've had the same one as my daily driver for coming up on nine years now and they're great, providing you keep an eye on the tightness of the starter mounting bolts (at least every time you do an oil change) and sort the glow plug system out in early days (I've had a manual setup in mine for the...
VERY cool! What a score. I didn't even know such things existed...but watch the neighbors line up at your place with pitchforks, ropes and torches every time their satellite reception craps out :)
"My remote control garage door won't open...and it's all because of that 50 jillion megawatt...
Right. But they integrated PLGR into a lot of wheeled/tracked weapons systems as the PPS-GPS component in installations from which they'd *never* be pulled for portable use, and when they did the PLGR ---> DAGR swapouts a lot of those systems got DAGR despite the PM GPS directive that they all...
Yup, MikeyApproved...caught the little pic and started the treasure-hunt on Ebay (Harr!..thar be Pirates!) but the only HMMWVs there were a 1993 project vehicle and somebody trying to win the P.T. Barnum 'sucker born every minute' lottery with a $35,000 special (or something...once it goes over...
Not aware of any uparmoured HMMWVs being sold as-configured, but lots of the bits and pieces certainly have (primarily doors and cupolas, but other stuff too.) Find out who has the scrap contract at your local base and make friends, because all kinds of stuff goes straight to scrap and some of...
I've pretty much looked through the usual suspects and can't find any reference to this sale/auction/whatever. Can anyone send me the URL?
I worked on a big-budget feature which shall remain nameless and they'd picked up a bunch of HMMWVs from another production (Ironman, I think.) Anyway...
They had a problem with the fuel pressure switch body leaking, which is that round thing you're left staring at if you take the filter off the base. It doesn't even do anything on the CUCVs except interface to the STE/ICE tester, from what I remember, but they were cheap enough at Front Line...
Supposedly all the weaps systems etc. which used PLGR and had no need for dismounted use are all supposed to get integrated GPS solutions rather than just replace PLGR with DAGR 'wastefully'. I think they're somewhat behind with that. The current JV-5 FBCB2 CPU can have on-board GPS rather...
Not only that - but everything including the manual for it is extra! Six months lead time from order to delivery -- comes in a plain white cardboard box with no literature whatsoever -- and you have to spend even more and more on all the maps etc. just to make it remotely useful. For 2...

CX-10613/VRC RADIO CABLE M38 M151 M37 M715 M35 CUCV ! - eBay (item 330371173224 end time Oct-31-09 17:04:36 PDT)
One on Ebay right now -- item 330371173224 if the link above doesn't work.
Hmm. POSNAV appears to have been Motorola based, but...wow...I'd like to see those pics as I didn't know we played with that system at all.
Here are a few pics of FBCB2 with both DAGR and PLGR. Still quite a few PLGRs out there though I *think* most should be gone by the end of next year...
Just a pointer to a thread in the HMMWV section that radio readers here might be interested in:

Cool. That last pic shows most of the FBCB2 Blue Force Tracker type setup with the computer (you can just catch a piece of the monitor at the rightmost frame of the pic) and the VIC-3 intercom. By the driver's right arm (the thing that looks like an armrest) is actually put there to stop the...
Looks really good with the two KY-57s plumbed in there! I want to do an FBCB2 (SINCGARS, AN/UYK-128 computer) setup in one of the Humvees that go out for film work, but getting a display screen is proving to be a bit difficult. I see they faked one up for "Generation Kill" that didn't look...
Just adding to the chorus here, but...don't run very long without that bracket for all the reasons others have said. If that bracket is loose or missing then all the strain is left to the two main starter bolts to deal with and God help you if one of them is loose because one will snap off...
