Official 2013 SS Georgia Rally Info thread
It's left over from a tree downed back in the spring. Should have split it and stacked it months ago. I wish I had done it back in that cool dry spell.
The wood is nice and dry anyway. It'll be ok in a pile right there for a bit. I'll load it in the...
Official 2013 SS Georgia Rally Info thread
Well folks, it looks like I'm moving my personal residence on 28 September. We put our house on the market last week just to see what would happen (with low expectation of anything happening) and in two days flat, it was under contract.
Now we have...
I had a few minutes this evening after dinner and I decided to check the fuel gauge sending unit. My fuel gauge has started reading between 3/4 and full, with no relationship to how much fuel is in the tank. I've been meaning to check it out but I've been preoccupied with other stuff.
Removing...
That is a beautiful truck! I want one.
I don't think you were stupid. It sounds like quite the adventure. You knew there was the potential for trouble and you were prepared with a credit card. I'm very familiar with my truck and I go prepared for minor issues but for anything major, I'm using...
I took the truck for a 20 mile test run to Lowes and back this evening. All hubs operating at normal 110-120 degree temps, no unusual noises or vibrations, and she doesn't drift or pull to the side coasting or braking.
Mechanically the truck is rally ready. I still hope to get those hummer...
I'm working on the right front hub now. The last one and all 6 will be freshly serviced and rally ready.
The right front was pretty much the same as I found the left front. Clean, well greased, not contaminated with water or 90 wt.
I'm cleaning it out, repacking the bearings, and adjusting...
Well, I beat the rain with getting the left side front hub serviced. Judging from the looks of the grease, it was pretty much undisturbed from the last time it was serviced.
It wasn't bad, but now it's better.
This is the old grease that I found when I took the drum off. Looks like the...
I'm working on getting the front hubs serviced this morning. As always here, I'm racing against the coming rain.
The left side doesn't appear to be in bad condition. So far.......
Since your motor ingested some water, I would be concerned about a bent rod causing low compression on #3. Also, as already suggested, valve lash or a bent/broken valve could be an issue.
In any event, water = bad.
If the other cylinders are running, your IP timing is correct, and you have...
Just made it home through a driving rain storm. I had to backtrack a bit to go help a buddy out with a laminate floor installation. Sometime during the floor work it started pouring rain. Ahhh, the fun of driving a deuce through a veritable hurricane.
My hat is off to Mr. Ron for getting us...
Ron, I'm bringing a pop up canopy and my FrogTogs! Looks like its gonna be wet on Saturday but that just makes it interesting. Besides, the rain means I don't have to wash my truck on Friday night.
