Hey guys we have two of these to restore and I'm looking for parts, etc for them. I particularly need to find one engine good/rebuildable/parts/junk engine. I think the engines are Pratt & Whitney R-2800 or R-2800-31 engines.
If you have jugs and pistons that would work too.
Guys I've been shafted to work this weekend  I had the truck packed and ready to go but unless there is some miracle that fuses together broken arm bones I just dont see myself being able to make this. The fool went 4 wheeler riding with his kids yesterday and somehow was ejected from the...
Hey you dont happen to live off 191 do you? Theres a dude that has a Hmmwv under a shed like your right off 191.
I have a camp in Toledo Bend down by Kites landing and when I hop on 191 and head towards Hwy 6 I always pass this persons house.
Just before that there is a guy that also likes...
I dont guess so. Would installing a temp gauge in the rear oil galley help? Nothing really goes on up there aside from the oil being pumped up through the pushrods to lubricate the rockers, valves, and stems.
Is there something I'm missing here? What else goes on in the cylinder head or do you...
In the oil filter housing. The oil is pumped from the pan by the double pumps to the void around the slit type filter. After being filtered it travels to another void area in the rear of the housing where temperature and pressure readings are taken then it flows past a bypass to the oil galleys...

Yes it does have a muffler.....I guess it might be a good idea to remove the exhaust system and blast it clean?
I think I'll try to turn back the IP a little. Maybe it...
Fellow diesel mechanics........I need some advice/help/diagnosis!!!!!!!
Today I started throwing sparks from my tailpipe....what gives???? I have not seen this happen before even on the deuce?
I had to do some work in my shop tonight so I cranked up and wheeled my beast out of its lair and...
Ditto! :-D Cut that sucker off with a wheel!
Also might want to save some of those gears or at least keep the old unit for parts. The insides look kinda nice :)
3dubs is right, we may not have it poured on our roads but it is in the coast and IN THE AIR. Dont forget that too. Leave a piece of metal out in the open around in south LA and it will flash rust in a second.
Quick tip on applying POR-15. You need to totally clean and etch the metal before...
Yep they will eat up armor plate in a hurry. API rounds make some magnificent holes through 1/2" plate but I can see where angling the plates like on the V will throw them off. The projectile must hit within a certain angle range to actually compromise the armor or else it will just glance off...
Cool deal!!!!!!:-D Thats some strong stuff on the bottom too! I'm sure its good for all 7.62 rounds but I would not try .50 on it though! I've got 10mm on the sides and 15mm up front, compressed chrome moly armor plate and I want to say .50 will still cleave through the 15mm like a hot knife...
