So no one knows what the holes are for, only speculation, interesting. And the huge welded "rings" were used for tie downs for rail transport by some. Any one have a manual that shows that these are what they were designed/supposed to be used for? I know thats what they were used by some for...
So I have read through the TM's and have read over 300 different threads and have yet to come up with some answers to some of my trailer equipment questions. If you know and have "proof" i.e. a diagram or picture that explains or details the use of the equipment please post it! Or maybe even the...
Welcome to the forum and the madness! Fuel gauge hopefully is nothing more than a loose contact nut, throw some diesel kleen in the tank and maybe it will also clean your contacts up a little. That is good mileage for a M923- I only averaged about 7mpg on my recovery. But on another note...
I will post a few of the pics that we took tonight or tomorrow! It was fun, and a huge thanks to Markmontana for putting it together!![thumbzup] Being a vet myself, it meant alot to me personally to be involved in honoring past, present and future veterans!
Took my youngest son to his first day of school yesterday, then took him to lunch, and then picked him up after school. It was his first day of jr high and he was excited to show off the 5 ton.
Got new insurance from Gulfway and dropped State Farm- more coverage at half the cost...
I took my 5-ton to Boyce Equip in Ogden to have my rear wheel seals changed/ bearings repacked/ brakes cleaned- checked etc.
I know a fool and his money are soon separated...and I really didnt have the money, but I was tired of leaking fluid everytime I parked, and throwing it all over my...
The number one question I get asked is "But what are you going to do with it?" I usually respond with "I am just going to have it, it is like a big four wheeler to me" and then ask them why people spend $12,000.00 on a boat that they use only 4 times a year driving around in circles in a...
Sorry- I subscribed to the thread, and meant to post my remark earlier, and I just simply missed the edited response... aua
Atleast we know they have been sent, and in military redundant fashion .
5 ton CDL Utah and registration
You could also go one step further in your adventures with the argument of needing a CDL and register the vehicle as a "special interest vehicle" with the state. It will cost you about $10 more for the plate- but might also go the extra mile to show that you are...
5 ton CDL Utah
So to answer the question if you need a CDL to drive one of these trucks in Utah, has been answered already in this thread, and the answer is: No- IF you are not using it in a commercial aspect and only as a recreational or personal purpose.
You will run into law enforcement...
I Downloaded all the TM's on a disc and sent (snail mail- too large to email) them to Patracy last week to be put on here... hopefully they will be in the resource section soon. THANKS for the great find!!!
I found these pages in the new TM 9-2320-272-23-3 and they are the diagrams / instructions on replacing the rear hubs- which also show the rear seals....
Hopefully this worked. I can open it on my computer.....
Thanks!!! I have not checked those... just assumed they were working as when I checked the diff levels I had no "pressure release"- and saw the fluid that had leaked out of the seal area.
Now if that was/is my problem, I hope it did not ruin my seals- just tweaked them enough for the pressure...
