For the cables, I just kept looking on Ebay until the right PN for the right length came up, and then bought them. Basically I just got lucky.

Thank you. But what I'm trying to get an idea of is how the adjusting mechanism underneath the cap is designed. Need this for a personal project I'm working on.

Doesn't anybody have one of these brake levers where the cap has come off and is willing to give me some pictures? I guess they were built too well, eh?

Was wondering if any of you have a hand brake on one of your M101 trailers that the cap has come off and could get me some pictures? Trying to figure our how the adjusting mechanism/nut is designed underneath the cap. Thanks.

Sorry, I thought you were just going to pack some grease in there, and nothing else. If you plan on removing the entire hub in the process, then it would probably be easier to take the wheel off first.

I don't remember exactly what the recommended practice is from the TM, however I believe you could get away with doing this. I had an A1 axle (I've since converted to an A2 axle) and the bearings and retaining nut are right under that bolted plate.

Nuts. Well, I suppose there's always the reverse engineered option. Certainly more work to it, but if there were enough demand from private parties, there's bound to be a machine shop that would make them for us. Any patent that might have existed is probably long expired by now...

Agreed. I wouldn't want to take apart a working lever, but if you had a trashed one that was seized, you could cut it apart and look inside.
